The Karma Hotel!

Kerma actually has two very similar hotels, but it is worth staying at the Karma Hotel just for the name! It is a very basic place, with a couple of rooms with scabby-looking mattresses on wobbly metal bed frames, but if you're tired, you won't complain. The owners are fairly friendly,and will find you extra blankets if you happen to be here in winter, like us...it gets surprisingly cold during the night, so these are very welcome, even if they come infested with bugs! Toilet facilities are simple...yani, a hole in the ground and a tap...no bidets or luxury towels here!!!

Unique Quality: It is actually more expensive to stay here than it is to stay in a better place in Dongola, but that is probably due to the lack of competition in Kerma. Nevertheless, it hardly breaks the bank, at just under $3 for a room.
