The Royal Villas Swaziland: Worst Experience of my Life!!! Please read!

Terrible. They are liars and cheaters. When I came in, I told them that I want a room for four. They gave us a price and payed it beforehand with cash. When we wake up and are about to check out they told us they are charging us double for having four people in the room. It was absolutely ridiculous. The management called us liars, then they insulted my wife when she was trying to quell the argument. They even called the embassy on us and said they have some citizens trying to create anarchy in the hotel. They kept on calling us "the indians" whenever they described us. We ended up negotiating because they threatened to arrest us. No one should ever go to this hotel. They will cheat you and then pretend they are the victims. I have never been so disrespected in my life. IF you read this, please for your sake do not let these people cheat you.

Royal Villas: Swaziland's Best

The Royal Villa is a unique place. Picture a small suburban neighborhood in San Diego CA and you've got the look. Individual houses with 3 or 4 rooms on a grassy street. I was in a queen room which was very nice. Roomy with a very nice bath. The houses share a living room and dining room (no kitchen) and patio. I saw the king suite and it was even nicer, a beautiful bath and very large suite. The bed was comfortable. Both King and Queen suites have a mini fridge and plenty of closet and drawer space. The TV has about 8-9 channels with movie channels that seemed to have way too many Canadian movies (a good subsitute for Ambien) and entertainment channels from South Africa and a news channel from the UK. The setting is breathtaking with the hills on either side of the Ezulwini Valley visible on both sides. The rooms come with a good full breakfast. The dinners in the main dining room were good not great. The poolside bar looked very comfortable but I didn't try it. There are craft villages nearby. You could walk but it is nearly a mile away. Security is reputed to be the best in Swaziland because the King has an ownership share. Thus pilferage by the staff is rare and theft by outsiders is unheard of.

Unique Quality: I have never seen a hotel or resort set up in individual villas (think tract houses more than actual villas) like this place. Very nice setting.
