Buhleni Farms: Conviently located

by tompt

On the Buhleni Farm you will find your wooden chalet in a wooded area. The trees around the chalets give shade in the warm summers. We visited in winter (august), this meant we wanted sun and all we got was shade.
The chalets were good, big and comforatbale. There were two bedrooms, a bathroom and a fully equiped kitchen.

The Buhleni Farms are located in the Ezulwini Valley, this valley is also home to most of the tourist attractions.

Our Verdict:
Good self catering location, value for money.

Timbali Lodge: Simple but trouble-free stay

by do9an

We stayed one night in this hotel in a double room (in seperate small houses). The room was simple, with not a lot of space. The bathroom was basic, and the window did not close properly. However, to our surprise, there was a free wifi (albeit slow) in the room. Breakfast was not great but reasonable. The reception was helpful, but their credit card machine did not work (we found this as a frequent problem in Swaziland, so I would make sure that I have enough cash with me next time). So overall, it is not a dream hotel, but could be a reasonable choice if you are looking for a room to sleep in transit.

Free wifi in rooms

This is an awesome recommended to me by a local southern African road trip specialist. A good location and great price per value.

The Swazi Sun Hotel: Luxury

by LizelleSA

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and, as always, was spoilt by the relative splendour of the 4 and 5 star rated Southern Sun hotels.

Tranquil, golf course, pool, meals and welcoming accompanied by traditional African singing, lovely rooms etc.

The place to stay in Swaziland: Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary

by DAO

If you have come this far to see wild animals – you need to spend at least one night at Mlilwane. To start with there are no animals in the sanctuary that will eat you alive, so you can observe real African wildlife day and night. The accommodation varies, but all are very comfortable, reasonably priced, are in keeping with nature and its just relaxing. The park has 4,560 hectares (11268 acres) of the most amazing animals, birds and even reptiles.

The open plan restaurant and bar have a massive terrace that becomes an amazing viewing platform in the evenings. It overlooks a large watering hole and all manner of wildlife comes down for a drink and many photo opportunities. The food is great or you can even braai your own if you wish.

The staff are just awesome. I was made to feel very welcome and they made sure I had everything. They even took me behind the kitchen to see the first Bushbaby I had ever seen. I had heard their cries in many places in Africa- but had never seen one.

The facilities include a massive pool, camping area, trails, and even exhibitions of the traps used by poachers to harm these beautiful animals.

Mlilwane means Little Fire, which reflect the history fires started by lightning strikes on the Mlilwane Hill. The sanctuary also has Nyonyane Mountain, named the "Rock of Execution", where the ancient San people once lived. Later it was used to house the graves of the Swazi Royal family. Today it is a working animal reserve helping to keep wildlife abundant in the country.

Not only can you enjoy nature here, you also contribute to the continuation of the first organised animal sanctuary in Swaziland.

It is simply awesome.

* You can walk and see wild animals, even at night, and not be killed
* Excellent restaurant overlooking a wildlife filled watering hole
* Very comfortable sleeping accomodation
* Swimming pool (expect bugs though)
* Cycling, Horse Riding, Jogging/Walking Trails
* Special night trials to see more nocturnal animals
* Bushwalking/Hiking/Trekking
* Cultural Entertainment, Visits and Tours
* Full business facilities including conference areas
* A very nice bar
* Great staff

Park Hotel: Hotel in downtown Manzini

by WaRPer

There's no reasons to spend a night here in Manzini unless you're seeking for some urbanized, busy-going kinda town. Manzini, functionally, is just a travelling hub between Swaziland and its neighboring countries (airport/bus station.) But if you insist to stay, there's one best choice I'd recommend -- The Park Hotel. Run by a Chinese family (you'll be surprised to see how many Chinese are living here in Manzini!!), the hotel located at the heart of the city within a short walk to all da malls and fast-food chain restaurants. The room's condition is just OK, nothing very special except for the perfect location....

Foresters Arms Hotel: One big flower paradise!!!

by Marleen_

I visited this place in february 2003 for the first time and the whole the garden was one bog flower paradise, it was beautiful!
The hotel is comfortable, it is not luxury but it has a nice ambience.
The people are the nicest I ever have met, they are so patient and helpful!!!
The breakfast and dinner are always very good, a real peace of art!!!

They have a pool and a lot of land with horses, so that's a nice view if you are sitting in the garden!!!
But I do not know if you can horse riding at Forester's, you have to ask that someone at the hotel!
For the golfer, the splendid Usutu Golf Course adjoins our estate. Tennis, squash, bowls and table tennis are also available, and mountain cycles may be hired.
