The View is amazing

This Hotel is located in Msasani area, out of DSM. this area has the nicest hotels, bars and shopping spots. The name says it, the hotel is located on a sea cliff with the most beautiful scene of the indian ocean. it was recently closed due to a fire, but i think it's ok now. perfect for families or honeymooners. not quite to best choice for business travellers.

Great for a Stopover

We found this hotel to be really good for a one night stopover in Dar. It is clean, comfortable and the staff are friendly. Rooms are fine with everything you need, although not luxurious.
Dar es Salaam isn't one of the most interesting African cities so you wouldn't spend much time here unless you were on business.
About 30-40 minutes drive (22km) from the airport, the Sea Cliff Hotel overlooks the Indian ocean. It has good facilities, including several restaurants, a large pool and a gym.

Unique Quality: The main restaurant has a reaaly good atmosphere in the evening and sometimes has live music.
The shopping area next door has the most wonderful bookshop selling all kinds of books about Africa, among others.

No 1 hotel in Dar es Salaam

Situated at the north end of the Msasani Peninsula, the Sea Cliff Hotel is probably the country's best place to stay if you like a luxurious holiday or if you are a business traveller.
Though situated in a ´third world´ country, the Sea Cliff Hotel is a top class hotel according to international standards. As soon as you walk in, you forget about the day-to-day problems of Tanzania.

Unique Quality: The Sea Cliff Hotel is known for its very good restaurants.
Next to the hotel is one of the best shopping malls of Dar es Salaam if you are looking for western quality. But don't expect too much of its size, as it is rather small.
Part of the hotel crew consists of the famous Masai people. Just like in other parts of the country, they are dressed in their traditional red clothes. I found them very, very friendly.

A rated hotel by the coast

This is set in a wonderful location, in Oyster Bay.

The hotel offers far reaching views of the ocean, though beware it doesn't exactly have a beach-front of it's own, because... it is on a cliff! Hence the name!!

Offers a range of theme-restaurants, and nice souvenir boutiques.

Unique Quality: The pools are great, and so is the choice of food available.

Even the rooms are very well-equipped and luxurious.

Amazing location

As its name shows, this hotel is located in a cliff, which is in fact the most valuable characteristic of the hotel.

To have breakfast while watching the Indian Ocean, or have some beers or dinner in one of the outside bars in the cliff, is something that does not have price for me.

The hotel has two diffente parts. The hotel, and the Sea Cliff Village, and there are rooms in both places.

Rooms in Sea Cliff Village are supposed to be quite new, but only a few of them are good. Most of the rooms there are very tiny and very humid, so if you are given one of these rooms, complain to the managers till they move you to a better room in the village or to the hotel.

And if you want to have a room with views to the ocean you must order a room in the hotel, cause in the rooms in the village you only have views to shops and restaurants.

Unique Quality: There are quite facilities in this hotel: gym, pool, restaurants, bars, shopping center, a supermarket...

And as I said before, the best of the hotel are the views to the Indian Ocean.
