Didnt stay here, but had heard about it and passed by it a few times...
Unique Quality: Very centrally located. Right in the middle of Dar's busiest commercial region, and overlooking the harbour/ ocean. With all the banks and tall buildings. Most government, commercial and financial institutions are within easy walking distance of the hotel.
The rooms have an option for views- pool facing or harbour/ ocean facing, and i think the room rates are also kind of determided according to that.
The hotel operates a courtsey airport shuttle, and the ferry to Zanzibar also leaves from very close to the hotel.
I believe its been rennovated recently as well

Probably New Africa Hotel and Royal Palms formelly known as Sheraton Hotel. There is also new Holidays Inn. The pic is of White Sands Hotel.

I really enjoyed the food at the New Africa Hotel near the Sheraton hotel, city centre of Dar es salaam. I also enjoyed chicken kebab at the Bar es salaam, which is located in the same street as Trattoria jan, in Msasani. The New Africa Hotel is well known for their curry's, which are fab... The chicken kebab (1000 shilling/ 1usd per stick) or barbeque chicken (4500shilling) at the Bar es Salaam is nice.
