Selous Hippo camp: A place to stay after a sfari hard day

We - 4 couples - spent 3 nights at this tented camp at July 2009. The tents are new and well maintenace. There is a privet bathroom that connected to every tent. We think that this part of the camp can be improved. The crew was very helpfull and tried to serve as in every request. The electricity works from 18:00 to 20:00. and you have to ask for a hot water bucket if you need it for taking a shower. We recommend this place to others.

The camp located outside the nature reserve, along the Rufiji river you can see and hear the Hippos in the river and the monkeys above the trees.

Selous Mbega Camp: Camp near Selous Reserve

Located on the edge of the Selous Game Reserve, along the banks of the mighty Rufuji River, Mbega offers charming accommodation in keeping with the local surrounds.
Accommodation is provided in tent style, but luxury tents, set up on stilts, with your own bathroom, and your own private balcony overlooking the hippo's in the Rufuji River. The monkeys jumping through the trees provide you with light entertainment at dusk and dawn.
The bar/restaurant area offers a beautiful spot to relax whilst listening to the hippo's call out from the river, and watch their activity.
The staff are friendly and the food is very good.

Sable Mountain Lodge: Sable Mountain Lodge

Clean and comfortable bungalows. Each containing two beds equipped with mosquito nets, a toilet and shower in a a separate room. The water heater and the room's light are pwered by clean, solar, energy. Some of the bungalows require a steep climb. There is a little swimming pool to relax after an exhausting safari.

Sable Mountain Lodge: Good value and outstanding location

Sable Mountain Lodge is located half way between Kisaki village and Matambwe gate.
The lodge is idyllically located in the Beho Beho hills just outside the reserve boundary which means park fees are only paid on days spent on safari inside the reserve, compared to those lodges located inside the reserve which are obliged to offer all inclusive itineraries. With 8 stone cottages, 2 tented bandas and 2 spectacular honeymoon tented bandas, a swimming pool, 2 bars and 2 restaurants, and a treehouse overlooking a waterhole the lodge offers quality and affordability, with full board accommodation starting from less than $100 per night.
All rooms have private balconies with awesome views.
A very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and fun place to hang out.

Swimming pool overlooks hills which attract wildlife. All cottages individually spaced over the hills give total privacy
