Hotel 2 Fevrier is the largest hotel in Lomè with 500 rooms. The building is also the tallest in the country with 102 metres and 36 floors.
Unique Quality: This hotel was under reconstruction by Chinese constructors when I was there in October 2010.

The following places/hotels in Togo are currently closed:
1. The Hotel 2 Fevrier in Lome is closed for refurbishment. You can't stay there, or access the building to use the bar or other facilities.
2. The Parc National de Fazao-Malfakassa is closed until January 2011. Most guidebooks say that it opens mid to late November, but I phoned in advance of travelling to Sokode, and was told that the Park is closed to the public until then.
Lome is one of the more beautiful capital cities in West Africa. It's very tropical, with long roads lined with hundreds of palm trees. It also feels safer than other capitals, depsite the recent trouble in Togo.
Going from Niamey, Niger to Lome, the scenery changes dramatically. From desert to tropical and humid. Lome is lined with empty, long, white-sand beaches.
This is the main square of central Lome. The photo was taken from the imposing 36 storey, five star "Hotel 2 Fevrier", situated in central Lomé, one of the city’s main landmarks.
