I was traveling with my 18 year old son and he was nervous about being in Tunisia so I opted for the "four star" El Hana. The decor hasn't been updated since 1960, but the staff was very helpful. The room was clean (as clean as 45 year old furnishings can be). The hotel was not impressive. I would have rather stayed at a smaller, local place - but then we wouldn't have had A/C or a bar!
Great view from the 10th floor bar and the lobby bar is a great location to sit and people watch. Great location in the middle of the main drag and only blocks from the old center of town.
