Hotel 20 Mars

20TD for a double room and breakfast with own shower and toilet, clean, comfortable and airy.
This is only an over-night place to sleep, no plush reception area, no bar, etc, but a good place to sleep and clean up for your desert experience.

Unique Quality: Positioned right in the centre of the old town of Douz, nowhere near the tourist zone. 50 meters from the market square, surounded by plenty of cafes and restaurants. Once inside the rooms are all off of a central courtyard, on two levels. Rooms are available with shared facilities also. Breakfast is by no means massive, but a coffee, bread and yoghurt is enough to get you started.

When we arrived in Douz we went straight for the Hotel 20 Mars which had had great reviews from both our guide books. These were well deserved as it proved to be the one of the nicest hotels we stayed in during our trip. We managed to find a parking place right outside the hotel and were given a room overlooking the street. There was a nice central courtyard where breakfast was served while upstairs there was a little terrace which was a nice place to relax in the evening. This was also the cheapest hotel of our trip - great value at 20 Dinar for a double ensuite room with breakfast included.
