let's sleep in a date palma park
We had a two day trip and we stay one night in this hotel. It was a great experience for me because I never had seen date palmas. The accommodation was excellent and the cuisine was majestic.

OK for 1 night
We stayed here one night, as part of a two day safari. We were a party of four in two rooms and we had the 'lucky' room; the air-con worked AND we had hot water, the other room had neither. Our 'shower' had all the benefits of a watering can suspended above you, trickling hot water, in spite of looking quite impressive before turning it on. Whilst gloating at the advantage of having 'working' air-con, it can be difficult to sleep when it produces the background noise of an RAF Tornado in permanent take-off mode. A slight exageration, but you get the picture.
The rooms themselves were clean and in-keeping with the culture/style.
There was an outside pool which was quite welcome in the heat.
The evening meal and breakfast were quite basic (not that I would normally enjoy breakfast at 4am regardless, but we had an early start for 'day 2' of the safari).
The bar was uninspiring and you were made thirstier, by having to search for someone to serve you.
On balance, when you have had a great day, I think you tolerate the failings of the hotel for one night, but maybe less so, if you had the room without AC or hot water.
I can't comment on the cost, as the safari was great value andd this hotel was included in the price.
Unique Quality: Being on the edge of the Sahara Desert, it is a fantastic location and after a busy and tiring day, somewhere to sleep (for 4 hours), it is good enough.

Hotel near dunes
On the edge of dunes. Great place to start Your Camel safari - only walking distance to caravans :)
Hotel is clean and asketic, but with nice yard and great swimming pool. Some birds flying behind windows and You can meet some geckos around hotel, but it´s OK. Price is moderate.
Unique Quality: Swimming pool, garden, dunes near hotel and camel safari opportunities. You can ask special clothes from lobby for 1 dinar for rent during the safari. Special clothes hide You from sand and wind.

Pretty & charming
This hotel was the one used by our tour operator for our overnight stop on the 2-day Saharan Tour... but as we were staying at a very cheap hotel in Sousse, this was actually a step up in quality! Setting really did look like paradise with palm trees and gorgeous little pool, which I didn't have time to try out. Rooms were in simple 1-storey "huts" but clean and quite charming and air conditioning worked. Food was OK.. nothing special (apart from being served at 4am in time for our pre-dawn departure across salts flats!)

Disgusting!
This hotel is filthy, although it was almost full with tour groups.
When we checked in they got our booking wrong and only gave us two rooms when we had booked three. They weren't very helpful and made it seem like the error was our fault rather than theirs.
This is a three star hotel that shouldn't even have one star!

The rooms are another story. They are cold, damp and filthy. When we entered our room we were horrified. The toilet was gross with mould everywhere and broken fittings. The room was empty with marks where the TV and mini bar use to be. The blankets on the bed were dirty and stained.
Sleeping in the nearby desert would be better than staying here!
Within a few minutes of checking in we were on our way out.
