No name hotel...

Kebili has a good no-name hotel five minutes' walk from the louage stop. Head south towards the oasis and look out for a mosque...the hotel is up some steps above a cafe.

Nobody was in when I arrived, so I had to rouse a confused cafe owner from his mid-afternoon nap to go and search for someone with a key. A few minutes later, another confused man appeared, wearing pyjamas, and in between yawns, showed me to a room. Not the best room i have ever been in, but for 8TD a night, it was very good value (April 2007: GB£1 = 2.5TD). The shower across the hallway had some lukewarm water and possibly could have been a little cleaner, as could the shared toilets...but for one night, you can cope!

It has rooms with keys. There are windows in the rooms. There are also beds, with sheets and pillows. What else does a traveller need?

hotel yadis oasis: expensive and empty

asked for "the best hotel in town"
fairly nice rooms, though not quite up to the standard of the reception area
internet access in reception

I think the place felt soulless because it was so large and so empty: there was almost noone there

extravagant layout with large pool
