I stayed in this hotel for few nights. It is a 4 star hotel, and it really is like that. The lobby is big and clean, the food is good, rooms are fine; with a view to the pool and a balcony. I would reccomend this hotel since it's near disco clubs and it has a very positive and relaxing atmosphere. There are only two things I didn't like - the animation team was terrible; their evening dance show made me more sick than entertained and the beach is not near the hotel; I was laty and I stayed at the pool, but a few friends which went to the beach came back a bit dissapointed.
I think the best in this hotel are the big pool, with a pool bar which is really amazing and the extremly nice staff, especially the girl that works in a bar and makes great ( and according to the rest of Tunisia), very cheap cocktails :-)

A clean fairly standard hotel in the zone touristique. The hotel is all inclusive, rooms are clean and the restaurants are pretty good. The staff are very helpful but their english isn't great so any french you have is very useful. The hotel is mainly a destination for families from continental europe, mostly french with a few germans, italians, swedes, dutch and austrians - british people are the minority. There is entertainment which is a little bit like Butlins circa 1985 or perhaps a bit like Club Med, it takes some getting used to and you don't have to join in. Examples of entertainment - water aerobics, arabic lessons, live music and cabaret, archery competitions, darts games, belly dancing lessons.
The hotel is really close to the beach and has a good sized pool (sun loungers are hard to bag though, a lot of people are up at 6-6.30 am to reserve them!) There are activities around the pool in the morning and the music can be fairly loud and obtrusive. The afternoon is more chilled though. There is also a smaller childrens pool with more shade. There are touts around the pool for things like camel rides, horse riding, scooters and buggies. They can be a bit annoying (but nothing like the hassle you'll get outside the hotel), just keep telling them no thanks. The tout that is worth talking to s the guy from the hotel spa and turkish bath, he wears a white pyjama type oufit with balneo vital written on the back. His french and german is better than his english but he is very helpful and friendly. The spa is excellent and the turkish bath is very popular, a manicure + 2 massages (side by side) cost £100 dinars (about £45, the price of one massage in the UK).
Overall it is a good hotel for a relaxing holiday, it is classed as 4* but is more of a 3+ in UK standards.

Although I've seen a lot of hotels in Jerba, the one I remember the most is this one. It is sweet, with all these bungalow type rooms; white with blue windows, the pool is nice, the beach is near and it has the kind of atmosfere that mede me decide to visit him agaiun one day. It is modest, but friendly hotel.

Dar Jerba is a huge complex of 4 hotels linked together in a great sandy beach. 5 or 6 swimming pools, a lot of restaurants, it's simply huge.
We stayed in what wanted to resemble a traditional arab village - every room was like a little house, all white with a little garden and a blue wood gate in the front and a narrow alley in the back that is used by the maintenance and cleaning personel.
We found it an excelent value. We were expecting less for the price we paid and from a 3* resort.
It's great for the kids, as part of the eficient animation staff can take care of them for free, all day long, from breakfast to evening. As the hotel customers are predominantly French, it seems that they only speak French and Arab, but nevertheless, our kids (who don't understand those languages) loved them anyway.
Nothing luxurious, but a very nice place for relaxed hotel holidays with the kids for an unbeatable price.
Probably not the right place for those who like to enjoy a good alcoolic drink in a nice cafe and bar, but you can enjoy an evening in a terrace siping a tunisian mouscat (sweet wine) or a soda.
Like in almost every all-inclusive low and medium cost hotel I know and heard about, you have very little choice of snacks, even if you go to those places where you must pay, as they are out of the all-inclusive chart.
