Hi.I am travelling to tunisia 22nd august with my family.Could anyone answer a few questions for me.This is our first time here.We will be staying at the primasol golden beach .Does anyone know if this hotel does kids menu like burgers,Chips etc ? also is it warm on the night. Will light jackets be needed ? Is the water park easy to get to.Sorry so many questions.
hi august is over 100 degrees everyday and is about 80 degrees at night. we have been 7 times and enjoyed it everytime.we just come back last week and it was 70 degrees than.
Hi August in North Africa is generally very hot - but being near the coast its usually cooled down with sea breezes etc, so generally enjoyable. id recommend taking something light to cover with in case its cool at night as that can be is possible and unpredictable but of course you dont want to burdened down by too much luggage, but generally a shirt over the top is adequate or take a light fleece or two as a back up.
what i dont like about the package tour thing is that so many people end up just staying around their locality and having provided meals by their huge hotel the same foods they eat back home. so no doubt the kids will be safe with their chips and burgers etc. but its easy to get chips/frites if youre out and about, and theres a burger version called kefta that is made into a sandwhich like a burger that you could also try, in many places anyway around Tunisia and North Africa. a popular Tunisian food that the kids might like too is Brik - with an egg in the middle, so that might be similar to their westernised food with a twist!
there are great places to visit around the hotel package areas though that you might like to see - hammamet with its fortress and Sebastians Villa/a beautiful building with gardens now called the international culture centre.
Sousse has a historic medina and excellent archeology museum. Monastir has lovely beaches and great fortress.Mahdia and Sfax also. Kairouan major mosque area is close by too for some culture and history.

A beautiful park located between the Ribad, the Bourguiba Pavillions and the Bourguiba Mosque, we spent some time in this cool park under the palm trees, watching the local people wandering while we are waiting for the rest of the group.
Monastir (from Latin monasterium), is 20 km south of Sousse; 162 km south of Tunis, is a city on the central shore of Tunisia, in the Sahel area. Traditionally a fishing port, Monastir is now a major tourist resort. Located in north-eastern Tunisia, it is the capital of Monastir Governorate.

Q: Emergency sun screen etc "I am only taking cabin luggage on my week's trip to Monastir and I think I may have trouble with UK customs if I try to put too..."
A: "If you can fit it into the plastic bag, in containers of no more than 100ml, then you can take it. I would have thought that for a week you could fit what you need into..."
