More about El Mouradi El Menzah

The Capital

by Malecka

Well, I spent most of the time in Tunis, the capital, since we had an acommodation there (cannot add tips on that one since we were lucky to get some help from a great tunisian guy who found a room for us).
I loved the city - there is a certain mixture of styles - what I consider arabic and Mediterranean (the white houses you can find in Andalucia, or the greek islands)...

The nice neighbourhoods are the rich ones El Manar and El Menzah - nice architecture, and also cafes, shops, restaurants. Cool to spend a day at.
And one more thing... the coast outside the capital is lovely too especially the beach of Hotel KARIM, so-called KARIM beach. Very nice. Getting there with a taxi costed us around 5$. Every single walk through the city!

Moving To Tunisia

by foggydews

Hi everyone, in a couple of weeks I will move to Tunisia, Tunisi, for two years. My company said they're searching for a apartment in Le Kram district, near Tunisi, does anyone know something about this district? Wich is a good place to live in the Tunisi area? Please write me suggestions!
Thank you

Hi,
El Kram disctrict is not so a nice place to live.
Security issue too. Try sidi-Boussaid, Carthage, la Marsa,
Manar 1, 2 or EL Menzah district.

Have a nice stay in Tunisia.

Hi thanks for your answer, why is Le Kram bad ? I have to work in the Rades port, maybe it's a near location..

Hi,

Indeed El Kram is near to the port of Rades.
It depends in which part of EL Kram are you moving to.
The parts, which are near Carthage and the sea area, are goood.
Carthage, Si Boussaid and Marsa are not far away from the port of Rades too.
You have the train as transportation from Marsa, Sid-Boussaid, El Kram, Goulette, tunis.

Have a nice stay!

Le kram is a distance from Rades Port and u need to cross the little channel between both sides , we now use a car crossing embarkation that will be taken out of service in one and a half years time when thye finish the bridge, so you will need a car to get to rades from Le Kram , where there is a nice area and a not so nice one , I suggest you move closer to carthage ( salambo byrsa etc La mrsa isnt too far either only five miles away more expensive for sure ) which is only a couple of miles away from Le kram .

Travel Tips for Hammamet

Elegant but crowded

by marinka_malinka

Hammamet is clearly among North Africa's finest beach resorts allowing you to sunbathe and watch the sea at the same time.

"Plenty of beaches"

Hammamet's beaches go on for km & km and there is virtually no point along the coast that doesn't allow swimming.
Despite the fact that many tourists coming here, Hammamet's beaches rarely becomes very crowded. And they are clean and inviting too

"The tiny medina"

The medina dates back to around 1500, when the Hafsids erected the present walls, allowing safe living and trade here.
Its condition is excellent, but few streets offer much authentic experience, since souvenir stalls fill most streets. But yet, there are some areas without, especially in the southern residential district.
