Wheelchair users?

by Heavens-Mirror

My fiance's mother is looking at going to Hammamet but needs to know if it is suitable for wheelchair users?

Also anyone know what yasmin hammamet is like?

It is not as accessable as towns in the UK, but I would say yes. The ground can be a little rougher and kerbs steeper, but in general should be ok. I know that the hotel that we stay in has ramps up and down the lower levels. If she is 100% wheelchair dependant it would limit some things, but if she can use a stick or assistance too, then there will not be a problem. The old Medina (market) may be a little tight on space, but I'm sure you will manage. I've never however tried getting a taxi with a wheelchair in tow, but I guess a good tip will fix that.
Yasmine Hammamet is quite spectacular and it a very interesting place to look around. As far as I can remember, there should also me no accessability issues here either.

thanks for your help. She is not wheelchair bound but can use a walking stick too. she just has walking difficulties so would need a reasonable flatish resort

Travel Tips for Hammamet

Tozeur

This is the biggest oaze and the palm farm in Tunisia. You can go to take a ride with this carrriages through the oaze. You'll get to see all the platns that grow in this kind of land (palm trees, orange and banana trees...), get a demonstrature of how to seed and palm with hands, and other fun stuff. The drivers of the carriages are extremely nice and funny, sio for me it was a very funny thing to do.

Interesting town

Hamammet is the biggest and most famous tourist place in Tunisia. Full of hotels and resorts it offers a lot to tourists - from typical 'lying on the beach' vacation, shopping, lots and lots of entertainment for eveybody, bars, restaurants and interesting excursions ...They have found a good way to collide history with entertainment and modern life. People are firendly, but sometimes it goes just a little bit too far when it comes to shopping and girls. But it's a theme I'll later go back to.
