Well, we stayed in Mehari for 6 nights in late March 2010, in general the hotel is suitable for families, don't expect anything 5 star. The Buffet was too boring to go to everyday. BF, Lunch or Dinner doesn't make a difference. Rooms are clean, definitely go for a see view room, the covers some of the bad service you will get. The staff are nice and polite. Reasonable rates in March since it was not high season.

Impressive location for a hotel at the door of Sahara. Nicely furnished, very clean rooms, with air conditioning and spacious bathroom.
Facilities: outdoor swimming pool, swimming pool with termal water, bar, gift shop.
Extremely rich and varied buffet, excellent food. There is also a Berber woman in a typical tent (inside the restaurant!) who makes for you very good Berber bread for free.
BAck on the coach for another 1hr 30 and we arrive in Duoz on the edge of the Sahara. The scenery had changed from the rocky landscape to flatter landscape that gradually became more sandy. Duoz's symbol is the camel - or more correctly the Dromedary. This is our overnight stop here so we check into our hotel - Hotel Mehari, a vey comfortable Hotel, much better than I though for a tour group.
