Hammamet in mid-October?

by Doolence

I'm seriously thinking of having a delayed summer hols in Tunisia or Egypt. Don't know if October visit to Hammamet would be such a good idea, primarily because of the weather. What are the expected temperatures for this time of year? I've also heard that during this period medusas and maritime gales can be quite a pester. True or hoax?

Any useful tips or experiences to share?

Thanks in advance

RE: Hammamet in mid-October?

We were planning to visit Tunisia in mid-October and, as far as I can remember from our research, temperatures in Tunis/Hammamet do not really drop until November. The real reason why we decided to bring our holiday forward to the last week of September is because of Ramadan, which will last the whole of October this year.

Travel Tips for Hammamet

Beaches of Hammamet

by Erkmen

Hammamet has a very nice beach line.. Starting from Hammamaet city center, till to the Hammamet south, a long and colorful beaches are waiting for you..

The beaches are open for everyone, and while you enjoy the beatiful sands and sea, you can easily see Camels, walking by your side.. And owners asking "A tour with Camel?" The beatiful sand..

Walk the medina streets

by angiebabe

The narrow streets of the old medina next to the old fort next to the sea of old Hammamet (as none of these tips are referring to 'new' package tour commercial Hammamet about 5 km away!!) are great to roam - with loads of photogenic doors and entrance ways to little houses and shops to be found - decorated with colourful bouginvillea or art work and such.

this place is well worth a visit as its still set in the original old medina that served the fort - no matter what people say about Hammamet being touristy - they most likely havent even been in to see these interesting lane ways nor around the fort and the walkway beside the sea - too busy out getting the impression that Hammamet is only the huge package tour hotels and complexes for tourists who just want to lie on the beach and have english breakfasts or find a good pub!

Hammamet is right place for a summer holiday. Its name comes from hammams(baths). There are hotels ranging from economy to luxury. And tourism industry is developed. Professional service and Tunisian hospitality welcome you in Hammamet.
