Hotel Miramar

Nice beach, Staff were very friendly (But I am going back 12 years now!), Very clean. Good pool & evening entertainment & a giant chess set in the gardens. Seems to cater for the French package market these days.

I stayed in Hotel MIRAMAR near Hammamet - it was very fine seaside hotel with two pools and bars and very lovely trees and flowers.

The Gulf of Hammamet shelters miles of fine sandy beaches, sparkling seas and modern hotels dedicated to the comfort a well being of their guests. You should take your room not on ground floor. At the seaside are the best rooms with splendid seaview.

Folk Dancers

by freya_heaven about Miramar Hotel

In the bar of the Hotel Miramar, they had entertainment quite a few nights of my 2 week stay. Ranging from dodgy to being quite entertaining. I am sure most of the hotels in Hammamet but on eveing entertainment some evenings a week. Casual

Belly Dancers

by freya_heaven about Hotel Miramar

Bring on the Belly Dancers! These ladies were actually very good & got people up & dancing with them.

The Arabic translation for belly dancing is raqs sharqi, which actually means dance of the orient. The movements in the dance were actually to prepare women for child birth & to regain their figure after the birth.

The belly dance performances we see today are usually a mixture of ancient African and Middle Eastern dance.

What a Charmer!

by freya_heaven about Hotel Miramar

This Snake Charmer was a very cheeful chap, another "ok" act.

Snake charming has been a popular form of entertainment of centuries, believed to have originated from the Indian subcontinent, now you can see it all over the world. Snakes apparently do not hear music the way we do, but by vibrations.

Hi Haythem,
We come to Kelibia (Hotel Kelibia Beach) in september. Do you know something about this hotel and about Kelibia.
Thanks

hi,

it's a very nice hotel, nice beach too, also there is a very very nice restaurant with a lot of fish , the restaurant name is Mansoura.

but , kelibia is not a famous touristic city, but if you like relaxing place and nice beach, it's the best choice.

you are welcome .

Hi Haythem!

I'm thinking of visiting your country for an early holiday. I plan to do so at the and of may. What do you think the weather will be like than (end of may...beginning of june)?

Also I cannot decide between Hotel Melia Flora Park and Hotel Miramar Hammamet. They both look like nice hotels...but you probably know the difference.

Thank you very much...

Maja

On Kelibia,
Kelibia is Tunisia's leading fishing port. and also a rather nice town.
Things to see around Kelibia:
Kerkouanne - one of few entierly Punic arceological sites. (The Romans have not built on top of it). Partly excavated to show the towngrid and floorplans of around 2500-year old buildings, (including hipbaths and lead piping and covered sewers.)

The early morning fishmarket in the port. (around 5 am). Bustling commernce in semi-darkness.

The "Bourgh" the fort of Kelibia- not so much for the fort itself as for the amazing view. It's also interesting to see the layering of punic, roman, greek, etc. (most of the fort is Byzantine or later).

"El Mansourah" - Beach and restaurant/café at the beach. Across the beach from "Kelibia Club"- hotel.

"Hammam Ghezaz" - A bit north of Kelibia an amazing stretch of untouched beach.

"Dar Chishu" - One of few "forests" in tunisia, conifers smelling of Rosemary, Thyme and mimosa.

El Haouaria - A bit further north lies this town, famous for falconeering and the spot where european birds pass on the yearly migrations. Apart from Gibraltar the closest point between Europe (Sicily) and Africa. Also views and cliffs.
