TUNISIAN NIGHTS
by whitecliff62 about HOTEL EL HANA BEACH
The night life in Sousse is really quite good considering that most of it revolves around the hotels. This wa a traditional tunisian night out at our hotel which was well worth seeing and also was a great laugh. This man managed to balance 8 clay pots on his head. Try that when you get home with your wifes best china hahahahaha.

A belly dancer laying on her back at the size of his big horn, god that brings back happy memories hahahahaha.
A relaxing hotel.
by cazz38 about El Hana Palace
This is a five star hotel in Port el Kantaoui, its built in the grounds of an original family villa, the villa is breathtaking with the most beautiful room i have ever seen which you can go into for a relaxing drink. The rooms in the main hotel are very clean and comfotable but are in need of updating. There is a seperate toilet and bathroom with shower and the biggest round bath i have seen in a hotel with a notice saying, please save water! There are 116 rooms in the main hotel and 7 suites in the villa if you are rich. The hotel has an indoor cold water pool and i mean cold, freezing. The outdoor pool is beautiful with a big dome in the middle with someone serving drinks all day and stools set into the water. The food was excellent with plenty of choice,i need to go on a diet after eating so much. The breakfast is a bit hit and miss but something for everyone and the evening meals were fantastic, there is also an a la carte restaurant and a snack bar by the pool. All rooms have hairdyers and a fridge. No entertainment in the evenings just a man on a organ, but everything is in walking distant. This hotel is not suited for familys with children.
Meeting point of Europe, Arabia and Africa
by Robert_Hun
"The Mediterranean"
My first trip outside Europe was in Tunisia in May 1999.
I spent one week there: El Hana Beach Hotel in Sousse, a one-day trip in Carthage, Tunis and Sidi Bou Said, plus a two-day trip in the desert.
It was a wonderful journey and made me take the first step to become a globe-trotter.
"The modern city"
Sousse has actually 3 parts: the old city center (the Medina), the beach with hotels and the (modern) city outside the Medina. This latter one is worth visiting, too.

Help an choosing a resort.
by doofus
I was wondering if someone could recommend a resort in tunisia for me and my wife in mid february in order to, hopefully, get better weather.
We are not fussed about nightlife etc. We are both in our late fifties.

I personally recommend <> or<>in SOUSSE, not <>.
Imperial marhaba is located in a very beautiful area, close to el kantaoui and you can find transportation to the capital TUNIS and there is alot of organised trips towars the south where you can go to el jem and see the roman coliseum or travel to the island of jerba.
I wouldn`t recommend mahdia too much because it`s only known for summer time and the beach, nothing really interesting other than few places.

Two of the major sights to go and see which are within easy reach of Sousee and it is possible to combine into one day trip. These are :
El-Jem - a very well preserved Roman colosseum which was originally designed to hold 30,000 people.
Kairouan - one of the holiest cities in Islam with some great mosques

Web site for the Hannibal Palace hotel Port el Kantaoui
by PavlH
Hi all,
Trying to find the web site for the El Hana Hannibal Palace Hotel in Port el Kantaoui.
All I can find is tour operators but would prefer to deal direct.
Does anyone have the url?
I have an email address but it points to '@planet.tn' which is a general site.
Many thanks.
