More about Hotel Abou Sofiane

Pick as high a star rating as you can afford

by Andreaflem about Occidental Allegro Abou Sofiane,

This was in the brochure as a 4 star hotel but like a lot of hotels in Tunisia the grounds and the recepion/ bar ect are beautiful but the rooms are very basic.

Port El Kantaoui

by SMURFIN about Hotel Abou Sofiane

My stay in Tunisia was one of the less vacations I have ever made.
Hotel and facilities were good, but I didn't like the mentality of the locals.
Food in the hotel could be better.
Animation was poor. There were no evening activities.

All inclusive at a great price

by babaduck about Occidental Allegro Abou Sofiane

The Abou Sofiane is a great value all inclusive resort with just over 300 rooms on 4 floors located right on the beach - it's 2km from Port El Kantaoui.

It has all the day & night entertainment you could possibly want, from archery in the morning to the staff dance around the pool at 3pm to a full cabaret show in the evening.

The food is good - served buffet style in the restaurant, and there's a snack bar beside the pool to quell your hunger pangs.

The rooms are comfortable & reflect the 3* rating of the hotel. It's excellent value for money when you consider that all your food & drink is included in your price

Decent 3* Hotel

by Mathew-T about Occidental Allegro Abou Sofiane

All inclusive, 2 weeks for £800 for 2 adults ?? Cant complain. Good variety of food, excellent service, limited english but they try very hard to understand. Small games room and a bit outdated for games but good non the less. Good bar, free cigarettes on bar if you smoke. Free 2L bottle of water everyday. Good accomodation. Twin beds though. Good all round views. Decent size pool although the daytime entertainment team get a bit much and a little pushy but they will leave you alone if you keep saying no.

Luxury All Inclusive in Tunisia

by babaduck about Occidental Allegro Riviera Hotel

The beautiful property is located nearby the famous Port El Kantaoui 36 Hole Golf Course, beside the sister hote Abou Sofiane & just 5 minutes wal to the long sandy beach.

Designed in true Moorish style, the Occidental Allegro Riviera is particularly distinguished by its spacious great hall with finely chiselled, hard-painted ceiling, skylights and multicoloured water jet fountains.

The hotel has 247 rooms with Satellite TV, Private phone, Air conditioning, Balcony or terrace & private bathroom with bath and shower

There's plenty of bars & restaurants on the property so you can just eat & drink all day & night (if you were able for it!!)

christmas time in tunisa

hi i stayed at the abou sofiane in porta kantaoui over christmas and found it a great place to spend christmas the food was great the hotel was as good as you would get anywhere the staff was very helpful, the entertainment staff was the best i have seen they must have been running on batteries,on the go 16hrs a day [keep yopur eyes open for kiki and shaggy, two very funny men]. the weather was not great sunshine only for one day,

Very Good Hotel

by A TripAdvisor Member

We got back from the Abou Sofiane about 2 days ago with my fiancee, mum, dad and sister and have had a really nice break before christmas.

The hotel it'self is very nice and the staff are the most friendly and helpfull people I have ever met.

This is an all-inclusive hotel which we thought was going to be excellent. The food was very nice and plenty of it but the drinks were terrible.... The drinks are all local produced and have a percentege proof value of Shandy. No matter how much of this stuff you drank it was impossible to get even slighlty tipsy....

The Entertainment Team were great especially James and Kiki but my only problem with the team is that you never got a break from then, badgering you all the time to join in games and things. Dont get me wrong we joined in a few and this is Fantastic for the kids but when you just wanted to relax by the pool it got VERY ANNOYING..

Overall was a nice hotel but I don't think it deserved it's 4 Star status.

Fantastic Hotel, location and price!

by TripAdvisor Member Vix2006

My sister and I (both aged 24) have just returned from a fantastic 5 days at the Abou Sofiane!! We were apprehensive before we went, purely because of the reviews we had read and things we had heard about Tunisia. But we could not have been so far wrong!! The hotel is fantastic. Yes, it's a 3 star hotel, but a very good one. The rooms are spacious and clean (daily maid service) and outside our room (No. 218) was a huge sun terrace which caught the sun all day and there was hardly anyone on it. The beach is also fantastic and only a short stroll from the pool - there were plenty of sun loungers at both.

The food was great, especially in the buffet restaurant where there is loads of choice every night. The pancakes at breakfast and pasta station for lunch deserve a special mention!! We ate once at the Italian a la carte (fairly good, but they brought out each course together for all tables, so if you passed on 1 course, you had to wait for everyone else to finish), but we didn't eat at the Tunisian restaurant (we passed on that to go back to the buffet!)

Even though the weather wasn't good enough for swimming in the pool or the sea, we could happily sit out and sunbath and it was the best weather for excursions. We did the 3 cities trip with Thomson's which was a great full day trip to El Jem, Monastir & Kairouan at £25 including lunch and a very helpful tour guide.

All-in-all, a great holiday and we would definitely return!

It woz Good

by A TripAdvisor Member

This is a very good hotel with good facilities for everybody, it was a shame we couldn't use the sauna, but a part from that there was no problem with the facilities. The Bar was very exceptinal and the staff that worked the bar was very polite. There was not a lot to do out side the hotel though except shopping, unless you booked a trip though the holiday agents who where located in another hotel.
The Hotel is for everybody at any age with early discos for young children and entertainment and a free bar later for older people. The location is great and right on the beach which is ideal and is quiet and night.
We loved the cats and thought they were not hostile at all and had no problem with them

Was wkd - it was wonderful!

Hello all from the hotel, i really emjoyed, the entertainment was funny, great assistance, the bedroom was really nice, except there was an extra bed shoved into the room, which made it feel a bit cramped! I thought the cleaning service was extroadinary, food and drinks were good, the games room was very enjoyable and the cats that stay at the hotel made it great!

thank you for your service

it was a super holiday and i hope i go back to the hotel in the future!
