Tour Khalef
Stayed at the Tour Khalef for one week 15th - 22nd October. First impressions were good nice hotel front where you can relax with a drink , large marble reception area, bar area and lounge. Not so good when you go to your room grubby corridors in need of a good clean and revamp. Rooms not bad, very spacious but a bit tired looking. Unfortunatley it was ramadam and across the way was a hotel filled with Tunisians who played music so loud until 3 - 4 am you could not sleep even with earplugs and the patio doors closed.
Food was ok, you would never starve, glad we were half board as the menu was very similar each night. Dining room was full of very rude Russians who pushed in the queues and piled their plates so high even giant haystacks couldn't have left a clean plate.
Most of the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, especially if u gave a good tip.
Pool area was very nice, you could always get a sunbed, which led to a wonderful beach with warm clear seawater and plenty of sunbeds again.
Try a massage in the Marhaba Hotel cost about £7.50 for a full body massage........very relaxing and worth every penny.
Word of warning do not try the Indian restaurant as you leave the hotel on the left, looks very nice but believe me I have never had such a bad meal ever !
On the whole a very enjoyable holiday, not much outside the hotel but a short taxi ride into Port el Kantaoui which cost about 4 dinars, nice restaurants and a lovely stroll round the portside, made a nice change of scenery.
