RIVIERA HOTEL, PORT EL KANTAQUI: COMFORTABLE AND STYLISH

by alyf1961

A very comfortable hotel, the staff are very friendly.

I went out of season in January. The weather is very mild and most of the time I just wore a T-shirt.

There was an animation team but beacuse it was out of season there was not a lot through the day.

Although it was out of season there was still all the facilities available.

The snack bar by the pool opened until 1am. and the disco was open until 1am every evening.

Du Parc Hotel, Tunis, Tunisia: Affordable Tunisia

by wrldtrvlr3341

Hotel Du Parc is located about a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport and a 20 minute walk from the center of downtown. It is located in an area with several other hotels, and about 10 minutes walk to a major park. Our package was booked with airfare, hotel, and breakfast buffet included, which was ample.

Du Parc is a well maintained modern hotel on a main thoroughfare into downtown. Security guards the front entrance gates at night, so we felt safe. There is a pleasant lobby, bar, and restaurant open during normal hours, and outdoor lounging on the patio when it's not too hot. You can book tours from the front desk that are moderately priced and staff were helpful and friendly.

Free Breakfast buffet, bar serves complimentary snacks with drinks. Great location with proximity to downtown.

EL MOURADI: OASIS OF COMFORT

by DAO

**A 5 star wonder that somehow only has 4 stars**

I ended up here unexpectedly when I booked a 3 day excursion across Tunisia. Absolutely fantastic! You actually drive along the edge of the Sahara Desert to get here. Your travels here bring you along a desolate wasteland that suddenly opens up to this absolutely heavenly oasis of a luxury hotel. Once inside reveals the truly stunning outdoor swimming pool complex within the compound. Several verandas allow you absolutely breathtaking views of the Sahara. I especially recommend a moonlight peak at the moon playing over the dunes.

Rooms are good and the bathrooms well designed and enhanced by the nice tile interiors. The buffet restaurant is excellent in terms of quality of food, choice and smiling service.

FACILITIES & SERVICES:
* Indoor pool, Sauna and Jacuzzis
* Amazing outdoor pool complex and gardens
* Air conditioning, safe and TV in room
* Non-smoking and garden rooms available
* Full bar
* Massage
* Baby sitting
* Restaurant & coffee shop
* Business/convention (full) facilities
* Currency exchange
* Souvenir shop
* Tennis court
* Sahara desert and Camel rides on your doorstep

Appartments Cap Marina***: Ideal location with beautiful views

by Kokkiem

The little studio is simple, but quite nice. No luxury, but all you'll have all you need. The kitchenette is downstairs, the room is up a little stairs, as well as the bathroom and terrace. The terrace gives a beautiful view over the harbor of Cap Marina, sailing boats, restaurants and even the Ribat. It could have been just a little bit cleaner, especially the kitchen and the floor. The location of the Cap Marina studio's could not be better: right at the yacht harbor. The Ribat, the mausoleum of former president Habib Bourguiba, the daily market, railway station and the medina (city center) are within a stone's throw from the apartment complex. The front (entrance) of the little studio, gives on beach and sea. The back (terrace) has wonderful views of the yacht harbor. Both the the beaches in front of the studio's, as well as the promenade below the Ribat are rather dirty though. Apparently this is due to off season as beaches are not cleaned. A minus point.

Ideally located and the beautiful views.

Vincci Lella Baya: Great hotel for a couple

by Stroller

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for three nights for our Xmas/New Year break in 2009. I saw this hotel in a vacation package offer in Switzerland but I decided to make the booking myself as I wanted to see a bit more of the country instead of staying at the same place for a week. I made the booking by email. It turned out to be the BEST choice. It's a 4 star hotel with very unique architecture. It seemed the Xmas/New Year period was a low season because all other hotels were very quiet and empty, whereas this one was very very lively.

In general, I found the hotels in Hammemet (or more specifically, Yasmine) much better than those in Tunis and Sousse.

The architecture, the atmosphere, the swimming pool were just great. The spa was good too, although the price was a bit on the hefty side.

Residence Venus: A pleasant place to stay in Le Kef

by Cockleshell

After the long steep walk from the bus station (my guide book was way out with the distance and I recommend a taxi) I received a friendly welcome at Residence Venus and was offered the choice of two rooms. I arrived without a reservation. My room with a view of the castle walls was spacious and very simply furnished with ensuite bathroom with good enough shower. This guest house with small courtyard has a certain charm and you feel you are part of an authenic village. I thank the man on the desk for all his useful information and recommendations regarding eating places and other places to visit. There are other nearby hotel options but I prefer the smaller places with a little more character over modern sterile hotels and was happy with my choice.

Grand Hotel de France, Tunis: Excellent value for money hotel

by Cockleshell

My 3 nights at this simple French-style hotel proved to be a very comfortable stay. I had a pleasant newly renovated room with a balcony which overlooked a quiet courtyard. The bathroom was modern and bright with good hot shower. All the staff were friendly and offered a warm welcome and communicated well in English and French aswell as arabic. With freshly ground coffee and french bread with jams for breakfast I think an excellent value for money hotel. (three times less than the ones round the corner on the high street) I recommend.
