Exotic Lodge: Not Exactly

I find it hard to find anything exotic about The Exotic Lodge. Economic Lodge would be a more accurate name for the place, as it is dirt cheap, even Dirty Toilet Lodge would be a suitable name. At least they did have mossie nets in the the rooms.

Saying that the staff here were very helpful and the café at the front of the building was good little place and I went back to stay there again.

Lake Nkuruba: not a bad gaff

This used to be one of my favourite places in UG, but last time I went there the prices had increased and the mountains of tasty local food hadbeen replaced by over priced imitations of western food. Still it is a lovely spot but if I was in this neck of the woods I'd probably stay in a lodge in Rwaihamba village and pop into the lake for a day visit istaed of the 2 weeks I'd spent there in previous years. I think a lot of the apeal previously had a lot to do with Hope who used to run the kitchen.

Lake Nkuruba Community Camp: Banda accomodation in a peacefull setting

This is a fantastically relaxing place to stay after a trek in the Rwenzori Mountains.

They organised very interesting forest and commmunity walks where you learn, at a relaxed pace, about plant and wildlife, farming methods.

Set on Lake Nkuruba you can view the monkeys and birdlife.

Amazingly relaxing.

Unique Quality: Clean Banda accomodation with fantastic views across lowland hills towards the Rwenzoris Mountains.

Traditional evening meals by oil lamp.

Close to Lake Nkruba (2 min walk).
