Taj Pamodzi Hotel: Great Service, But You Pay For It
Satisfaction:

The Taj Pamodzi is a 5-star hotel situated in a somewhat inconvenient location in Lusaka. The hotel has everything that a business/pleasure travelor needs - in-room internet access, two nice restaurants, a decent bar, health club, and good service; good service that you end up paying for.
It is important to note that the Taj Pamodzi kindly adds a 10% "services fee" to all charges as you are checking out. In my experience, I was not warned in advance of this charge, nor was it transparently represented on my bill. In the midst of a classy hotel, I found this charge somewhat disconcerting and something that should be noted for all visitors to this hotel.
There is little "unique" about the Taj Pamodzi, though the grounds are well kept and staff are friendly and outgoing.
The Taj Pamodzi is known in Lusaka for being the nicest hotel in town. It's primarily a business hotel, and it was pretty good, but I had a few problems with it compared to the Intercontinental Hotel.
First, I didn't venture into the pool because it was very cloudy. Also, there were no tennis courts (they have pretty nice courts at the Intercontinental). There were many power outages in the city while I was there, and they gave me one candle! I couldn't get them to bring another.
