Possibly the worst managed hotel I have come across in a while. Pity because the locality is pretty. Booked for four rooms a week before arrival on business only to find they appeared to have only 1 available. After a two hour wait this became 2 rooms and a shed and then miraculously this became 3 rooms after another wait. Only the barman was friendly and cheerful. The odd thing was the hotel restaurant – which was poor quality and slow service - was near empty suggesting few guests. At breakfast a chap came around asking whether we wanted tea or coffee and how we wanted our eggs, but this didn’t actually lead to anything happening i.e. we had to go and get what was available at the buffet when it was clear he was just there for show. Checking out took 45 mins. Few excuses were made for the experience and certainly no price reductions. Clearly this hotel needs new management. This was not a Zimbabwe wide phenomenon. The Great Zimbabwe Hotel two hours drive further north was nicer cheaper and very well run and friendly. Very sad.
Nothing to report. The grounds were nice, but I didn't dare take a dip.
