Could not tell a price as we stayed in the campground.

It's a colonial days historic hotel which does nice buffet style breakfast. If you got the means you can relive Stanleys and Livingstones days.

Stayed in Self Catering Chaletes at the Deka Fishing Camp. I am not sure if it open to the public ,you might have to go with a member of the club (My Mothers brother took us along)
Cost R250 for a 3 man chalette for 1 week. BEAT that

The Zambezi. No tourists , peace and quiet . Excellent fishing. Croc and hippo viewing all the time.

398 Thurso Road, Killarney Tel: 31528
This is one of the places that would keep me coming back to Bulawayo. The owner, Mr. Kruger, is like a father to their guests. This hostel is located in a nice & quiet house. The upper floor is Mr.Kruger's home and in the ground floor are the dorms. He's so kind and helpful to anyone that you feel at home here. He said to me something I can't forget: 'I act with my guests as I would like them to act with me if I were alone out there in Europe or wherever'. My god!...he's a philosopher!!
They offer: Clean accommodation, lock up facilities, communal kitchen, home cooked meals, hot showers and baths, barbecue area, swimming pool, lounge with TV, beautiful garden, pool table. They also have a shuttle service to and from town, free pick up and drop off services.
Africa Sun also have their own safari company called Africa Sun Safaris. Sebastian or Josephine will take you on a tour of Matopos you will never forget. If you book a Matopos Tour with them you get a free night at Sun Backpackers.

  • NYATHI CAMP SITE in Vic Falls
There are 2 campings in Vic Falls. TheMunicipal Camping is very well located, but older and much more crowded than Nyathi Camp, 2 or 3 kms. outside Vic Falls. Green grass, complete communal area, and they also have Chalets there and are very reasonable.

  • Good camping grounds close to Victoria falls. Most national parks have camping grounds as well but can differ a lot in what you get for your money. The house boats on Lake Kariba are excellent !

Can rent various sizes of boats. Normally all food are included is prepared by our 'guide' on the boat. The price may sound expensive but if you look at everything that is included it is quite cheap.

We stayed at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, which was very nice. But the best part was its on-site watering hole. We saw baboons, elephant, impala, kudu at the watering hole. And the grounds had monkeys, mongoose and warthogs wandering about. One morning I woke to find a cape buffalo grazing not to far from my balcony.

The picture here is of the mopane worms served at the Boma restaurant, which is on the Vic Falls Safari Lodge grounds.

  • By Imbri on August 26, 2002
  • The Bulawayo Youth Hostel is incredibly inexpensive, at only 60 Zim $ per night (because the
currency is so unstable, it makes no sense to translate that into US dollars). It was clean,
comfortable, quiet, and very roomy. When we were there in January, there were only two long-
term guests and us. Anna, the woman who has run the hostel for over 40 years, is absolutely
wonderful. One of the other staff members has two bicycles which he rents out for a reasonable
    fee.
