Unique Quality: It was very few hotel guests when I walked inside the hotel. A small shopping arcade is located in the main hall. The casino and gambling machines inside the lobby gives a tragic overview of this majestic hotel.

Great location & Service
I was very impressed with this hotel. Not only the service and friendliness of he staff, but also the excellent location. It is a 10 min walk to the entrance of the Vic Falls. The hotel has an exit at the back for residents only, which make it a short walk. It is also very close to the railway station at Victoria Falls own. The hotel is of a high standard with swimming pools for kids and adults. Rooms are air conditioned, have balconies and equipped with a safe. I am not sure as to the rates, as we booked a package which included airfares, accommodation and transfers. I can recommend this hotel anytime.

Kingdom Hotel fun inn staying
Surprised not to see the review of Kingdom hotel. Hence adding the review after visiting the Vic falls and staying in the Kingdom hotel. The Kingdom hotel is very beautiful and close to the falls. The falls can be approcahed in 5 mins from the back gates of the hotel. The staff are friendly and have a smile on their face alaways. The hotel has few restaurants outside. The Panorotti's Pizza and Spur Steak house , both of them are wonderful. The hotel accomodates a nice Casino with great ambience. Worth staying in this hotel.

If you've got the money...go for it.
As far as modern accomidations are concerned, I don't think you will find any better. The style in which it was built is appropriately themed for the area, but it isn't done in such a way that it is over the top or gaudy. The service is excellent and it is the closest hotel to the falls.
Unique Quality: a casino on grounds (which I won $18,000,000 at), back exit that leads to the Falls, numerous restaurants, business center, great pool, baboons trying to raid the buffet

Great Resort
This is luxury resort in Victoria Falls which is located in just walking distance from the falls. You can hear the falls from your room. This resort has a casino, great pool area and dining area. The rooms are amazing with African decor throughout. Stay here it is beautiful hotel.
Unique Quality: The facilites are great and it is a short walk to Falls which makes it even better.

A fantasy world
The Kingdom hotel is the sister hotel to the Palace of the Lost City at Sun City in South Africa. It's not quite so opulent as the Palace, but not far off, and the whole place is built on an African fantasy theme. There are rope bridges, lagoons, aterfalls and some lovely finihsing touches, but it's a very large hotel and I still prefer Ilala Lodge.
The Kingdom is not a patch on Ilala Lodge in terms of friendliness and service. The buffet food is mediocre to poor, but we enjoy a nice bottle of wine and the traditional music and dance display.
Unique Quality: Adjacent to the hotel is a gaming, shopping and eating arcade which also has internet cafes.

Vegas meets Vic Falls
So funny, I spent only one night here, but wish I had spent more. This place is so Las Vegas, they even have a casino and a rotunda of shops and food court. It totally cracked me up.
Overall, the rooms were quite nice, clean, and comfortable and the staff was very professional.
I think the rate was fairly affordable, though I'm not quite sure. We booked here as part of a package.
Unique Quality: Overall, the place is designed around a "natural" waterway with bridges connecting the various buildings. There are even signs that warn kids not to play too close to the water because of crocodiles.
As with all hotels here, keep the windows closed when you're not there...baboons!

Over-the-top, but comfortable
Our package deal put us at the Kingdom Hotel, which was somewhat more luxurious than I really needed, but pleasant nonetheless. It's a fairly large hotel complex, with several two-story blocks of rooms surrounding a pool and pond area in the center. The main hotel building contains a casino (which I didn't check out), shops, and restaurants, plus more guest rooms. This hotel is more expensive than average, but it's not as pricey as the Victoria Falls Hotel. On a hot afternoon, it sure was great to sit out by the pool and take a dip.
Unique Quality: The Kingdom Hotel is located directly adjacent to Victoria Falls National Park, and a five-minute walk from the back of the hotel grounds takes you right to the park entrance. It's extremely convenient. You can also walk pretty much anywhere in the town of Vic Falls from here in about 15 minutes.
The Kingdom Hotel (This place is MAGNIFICENT) This was my first stop in Africa before my 3 safari adventure. When i arrive at this hotel, i couldn't believe my eyes. I have never been more pleased with a hotel. This place was enormous and was completely in the AFRICAN theme. The rooms were top notch. There is a casino in the hotel, as well as, many restaraunts to choose from. Not only is the hotel EXCELLENT, it is walking distance to the ever great VICTORIA FALLS!! I can't explain how great tihs place is, unless you go there yourself!!

We stayed at the Kingdom Hotel. Altough I did not see any 'official' grading, I would grade it as a good three star hotel. It is a very new hotel - building started in 1998 and it was officially opened in 1999.
The building style and interior decorating is very tasteful and reminds me of the Zimbabwe Ruins down to the south of the country. I think they might have borrowed some ideas from the Lost City hotel at Sun City (South Africa).
Everybody at the hotel is very friendly and helpful.
It is the closest hotel to the town of Victoria Falls and the Falls itself - both about 5 minutes' walk.
They could perhaps do something about their buffet breakfast but especially their buffet supper. More choice of food and better quality would help.
I would however recommend it very highly and would stay there again. Good price; tasteful decorating and architecture; very centrally located; friendliness of staff and price

Eating near Victoria Falls hotel

Just wondering if there are some reasonably priced places to eat at near the Victoria Falls Hotel. We wil be staying there for 3 nights but assume it will be very expensive to eat meals there. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. :)

We were there in 2005 and ate at both In-da-Belly based it the rest camp - good value food very laid back atmosphere. http://www.vicfallsrestcamp.com/Dining/dining.htm
We also ate at the Kingdom Hotel on our last night there in the large buffet restaurant. This was more expensive but still very reasonable in real terms. Personally just struggled a bit to come to terms with eating in a place like that when just outside there are people living in such poverty.

There is (was in 10-05) a hamburger place, (Wimpies maybe- horrible, and expensive- not worth the $$) Mama Africa's is just up towards the little shopping area. The food and nightlife are said to be very good.
