Unique Quality: They call it "The Old Lady of the Falls" and it's worth going to visit even if you are not going to stay in it
In this building of 1904 the British Governor was staying here .
You can visit the old kitchens, banquet halls, meeting rooms ... and tropical gardens, very well maintained from which you can see the Zambezi River and the railroad bridge that crosses it, where the "Blue Train " that came from South Africa stoped over the river so that travelers could dine and watch the sunset
Sorry I can not give you idea about the hotel for staying
The name says it all. This is one of the great landmark hotels of the world. The hotel was built in 1904 and represents the splendour of colonial history. It has the amazing Stanley Room with murals depicting the luxury enjoyed by colonial travellers during the heyday of the British Empire. Throughout this classic gem of a hotel are stuffed wild animals and a few live baboons still scurry through the massive grounds. Their private footpath leads to Victoria Falls in just 10 minutes. This hotel has all the old world charm, modern luxuries and caring staff to make your stay and absolute delight. If your budget can’t stretch to staying here, at least come for a stroll through the hotel and grounds.
Stanley’s Terrace offers a fantastic view of the Victoria Falls Bridge, connecting Zimbabwe and Zambia and is a great place for a cup of tea or evening drink. Their pool and spa are world class, the rooms well appointed and their restaurant offer an area of food from local recipes to international fare. The whole of the immaculate gardens and grounds are actually within Victoria Falls National Park.
The 161 room hotel has hosted monarchs, president and movie stars. The walls are lined with amazing photos of colonial times, cultural exhibits and beautiful wood features throughout. It has an internet room, library, chapel, tennis courts and often live musicians playing in the gardens. The hotel can also organised golfing, river cruises and game safaris.
This is a real slice of history and a must see if you are visiting the falls.

This colonial style hotel is only 5 minutes away from the Victoria Falls.
From the garden you've got a fantastic view of the famous bridge between Zimbabwe and Zambia (for bungee jumpers...) and the spay of the falls.
The building is quite big but has a nice, colonial feel about it and the large garden with the view is fantatstic!
I've stayed at this hotel several times and have never been disappointed.
Internationally claimed, The Victoria Falls Hotel, set in acres of private garden, was established in 1904 and for over 90 years, visiting members of Royal families, Heads of State, celebrities, authors, journalists and poets have stayed here.
The grand Edwardian style hotel overlooking the Victoria Falls bridge and gorges has acres of garden. A private path leads down to excellent viewpoints of the falls.
Unique Quality: Light lunches and evening barbecues are terrific and can be enjoyed on an open air terrace with the roar of the Falls as a backdrop. The shaded area with its enormous trees is also filled with the sound of the Marimba band, giving it a real African ambience.
The hotel staff is extreemely helpful and will arrange any number of exciting and diverse activities in the area, including rafting, hiking, elephant safaris, flying, bungey jumping, etc.
No visit to Vic Falls is complete without at least seeing Victoria Falls Hotel. It's very colonial, very grand. We make a point of walking about with confidence, as if we're staying there, and nobody questions us as we wander down the various corridors and out on the terrace. Nice view of the bridge.
The interior is covered in animal trophies, old photos and colonial architecture. A lovely place to visit but it is far too stuffy to stay here.
I didn't stay here. But if you are after luxury and comfort and everything that comes with class, well this is obviously the place. The Edwardian Building is set with views overlooking the bridge, the Zambezi and the spray of the falls with acres of gardens. Inside it is plush. Its restaurants are great. The only thing that you will have to consider is the expensive price tag. Stay here if you can afford to be lavished!
Unique Quality: Everything, views, pool, gardens, lounge areas, amazing edwardian architecture. This is style!

THE VICTORIA FALLS HOTEL IS CERTAINLY THE PLACE TO STAY IF YOU ARE INDEPENDENTLY WEALTHY (OR IF SOMEONE ELSE IS PAYING FOR IT). OVERWISE, ONE CAN ALWAYS VISIT THE GROUNDS.
I BELIEVE A SINGLE ROOM GOES FOR ABOUT $300.00 IF I REMEMBER RIGHT.
Could not tell a price as we stayed in the campground. It's a colonial days historic hotel which does nice buffet style breakfast. If you got the means you can relive Stanleys and Livingstones days.
We stayed at the Victoria Falls Hotel.
Very expensive I understand. We stayed as part of our package so I don't have a definitive price. Beautiful old hotel with a tremendous view of the Falls in the distance.

Just wondering if there are some reasonably priced places to eat at near the Victoria Falls Hotel. We wil be staying there for 3 nights but assume it will be very expensive to eat meals there. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. :)
