Forward Operating Base Orgun-E (FOB O-E for short): Orgun-E is not a tourist destination
If you happen to come to the FOB (Forward Operating Base) Orgun-E, I have rebuilt the VIP Quarters which is surprisingly very comfortable...it has two seperate rooms and a living area. It is air conditioned and even has its own treadmill. It has a big screen TV with access to Armed Forces Television Network and also has a DVD player. It has a NIPR and SIPR computer hookup with a VOIP (secure) telephone. The refidgerator is well stocked with Gatorade, Bottled Water, and Near Beer. Snacks available upon request. It is required that you bring your own weapon and ammunition although resupply of ammunition is available upon request. I recommend that you stay here rather in the town of Orgun-E as it is somewhat dangerous with the IEDs and sporadic firefights of the local (ANA) army, US Army against the Taliban forces which are prevalent throughout the region and the frequent rocket attacks from the lovely mountians surrounding the FOB. Kidnappings are also known to happen especially with the tourist types and it is advised not to leave the FOB without an armed escort of at least four uparmoured guntrucks.
The Moose Knuckel is a re-renovated Sports Bar/Internet Cafe that has sprung up in the last few weeks....we also have our own MWR (Moral, Welfare, and Recreation Center) where you can make phone calls to the USA or Italy. It also has a pool table and a couple of Televisions. It is a happening hot spot for the younger crowd...Dont forget the fine dining at the Rocket Cafe also known as the DFAC or Chow Hall. Fine quisine that will be sure to please even the most picky of travelers...The Skysoldier Gym is where you will go for all your weight lifting and anarobic activities...there is a 3/4 mile running track that goes around the Flight Landing Strip but at 7600 feet it can be a little taxing for those not in the best of shape...Sorry, but at this time there is no swimming pool at FOB O-E (as it is affectionatly called)...the guard towers that surround the FOB provide adiquate protection from roaming bands of Taliban and Al Queda fighters.
