Stay only in Paro not Thimpu, its more quaint and has much more charachter. Uma Paro is fantastic, stunnning view from the corner suite of the hills around. Def do a stonebath therapy, make sure the water is hot in advance though. Fred the hotel Lab is adorable, hates excersing but loves to be tickled and can lie on his back all day. The staff are friendly, speak fluent English. Food at the hotel is superb as well. Must do the fireplace in the evening, it was wonderful under the stars. Flies are an issue so be prepared for the pestering. The hotel offers some packed lunch options which we thought were a bit expensive per head. Nicer to eat the local food at the market. They recommend 2 restaurants which are really good. Beware of the slippery floor surfaces in the rooms we were holding the furniture and walking! Free internet access which is great the speed is good as well. great indoor pool with a beautiful view of the hills around. dont miss!
