I was there for a week last month. The hotel is 5* hotel in Thimpu. It is a joint venture project by Indian Taj hotel and Bhutanese Tashi group. The entire hotel, decoration and flavour is unique with Indian teste and Bhutanese traditional look.
Unique Quality: It has pool, gym, Jiva Spa, Wi-Fi, laundry, room services and all other facilities.
Directions: Right in the city center
While there is a lot of Indian influence all through Bhutan, this is one of the few restaurants in town to specialize exclusively on the cuisine of India. It is a richly appointed place, located in the Bhutan Observer building, above Hotel Taj Tashi. The cuisine is a wide variety, some standards of Indian fare while others which I have not seen before. For large groups you can serve yourself from the buffet, while the attentive staff will keep you stocked with drinks.
Can someone provide information on Hiking and walking in Bhutan? What kind of local food is available? Does one have to pay a daily fee for being in Bhutan?

i'm not sure about trekking or walking but we went to bhutan a month ago. stay at the hotel paro, its where the airport is. dont stay at the taj tashi not a great location. local bhutanese food is amazing. ther is mushroom and cheese dish you must have. they temper down the spices. tiger monastery trek is suppsoed to be amazing, we were to unfit to do it! hope this helps.
