Wangdi Kichu Resort: Hidden treasure
After Thimphu, we travelled to Wangdi via Punakha. It was a long distance and it was getting dark when we reached Kichu Resort. The curvy, long road led us into this valley where we found out that our resort was hidden in this valley, by the river and had an awesome garden. There are small, two storey, and bungalow style buildings as rooms. We stayed at second floor. The balcony of our room has the river view. The water was too much and the sound of the river was too loud but I had a good night sleep. Maybe because of local whiskey we drank that night.
The owner of this resort is vegetarian and they don’t serve meat. We had a delicious vegetarian dinner. I loved this hotel too much but don’t expect something luxurious. Everything is modest in this country.
The next day it was raining and clouds were coming through us from the mountains. It was an amazing view. Unfortunately we stayed here only for one night. I assure you, this place can cure our stressed minds with its isolated ambiance, even in one night.
