No, we had to change hotel - well, actually we had to first go to their house, have a beer and a cigarette, admire the house (beautiful), check emails, have dinner with them... and then think about a new hotel where we'd stay. At this point we were really thinking that they would simply keep us there and adopt us - so friendly as they were.
Finally a phone call was made and a hotel was found: a small hotel with all amenities for less than 40 dollars - comfortable bed, minibar, hairdryer and all... and very friendly staff. Only the breakfast was a big let down, but for a reason. Not many western people go there - we discovered - so the marmalade had gone off. All the other breakfast items were Asian breakfast things... curries included, which we gave a miss.
