Empire Hotel & Country Club: Brunei's most expensive, with expansive lobby

The Empire hotel has undergone some renovations here and there, and continue to expand with the commissioning of the Seaview adjacent to the main building.

Definitely worth a visit when in Brunei, and at least a nite's stay, more if one is on expense account.

The lobby is very expansive, especially so if viewed from the bottom of the lobby, which is 3 escalators down from the main entrance level.

The central pillars are very dominant, and makes one feels miniscule!

The lobby's display include a semi-precious stone from south america, the largest of it's kind, and a crystal and golden camel worth $1M?......

Empire Hotel & Country Club (Part 2)

The photographs here show the Lagoon Wing block which I stayed for 1 week during July 2007. The cheapest room is about $600+ brunei dollars per night but I managed to get it for about $150 per night because I was attending a meeting there hosted by the government of Brunei. If you want to get the room at a cheaper price, lookout for the offers on their websitw (see below) or go for an airline package deal of the Royal Brunei Airlines.

Empire Hotel & Country Club (Part 1)

The Empire Hotel & Country Club is without a doubt one of the best and most luxurous hotels in Asia. The rooms, service, facilities etc here are simply amazing! The main lobby is extremely grand, big and very well decorated. There are many restaurants, a sports centre, golf course, several beaches, 8 swimming pools and even a cinema complex here!

I stayed 1 week at the Lagoon Wing room during July 2007. My room is the most basic but yet it is very big, especially the toilet is huge. The room is very luxurous, especially the matress and pillows are very soft (see photos). The staff and service of this hotel is also very good. Please go to part 2 of this tip.
