Aung Gabar Guesthouse: wooden serenade
We stayed here as everything else was full. It was OK for few days, because it's location is just in the city centre, next to General Aung San statue which you cannot miss if you visit Pyay. However, the rooms are bit too small, unless you don't have anything with you. I stayed in a small single one with fan, window was very dark and the walls were wooden. Since I spent most of time outside and went here to sleep only it was not necessary for me to change it. We paid 3 USD/night per person. The doubles have TV included and bathroom attached and cost little bit more. The common bathrooms were again small and sometimes it was unpleasantly wet when there was water from previous guests left in the shower cabin. The owners were friendly, however.

Smile Motel.: Unexciting but adequate.
There are only a couple of options for foreigners in this town that is not terribly firmly planted on the tourist map, and this is a reasonable choice.
Staff are friendly and the room, which was along one of the longest hotel corridors I have ever seen, was clean and comfortable with TV, minibar and aircon. Unfortunately, the TV and aircon don't work most of the time due to the frequent power cuts in the town.
Breakfast of the usual eggs, toast and fruit variety is included.

Pyay Strand: Mirando al Irawady - Looking the Irawady
No es el Strand the Yangon pero es un hotel pequeño que está al lado del río Irawady
Tiene el problema de que la electricidad está racionada y cuando estuvimos allí no la daban hasta las diez de la noche
It is not the Yangon Strand but is a small hotel near the Irawady river.
It has the problem that the electricity is rationed and when we were there they connected at 10pm
