This guy operates on of the big long boats for one of the hotels that hauls tourists around. Those boats are quite inexpensive to get full day tours of the lake if you are pressed for time. I paid 7000 kyat US $8.25 for an 11 hour tour which included Indein a beautiful village on the west side of the lake.
These boats are travelling at full speed hauling people across the lake to villages and fields along the lake. If you blow the picture up you can see the boats coming across the lake. If you don't blow it just take my word for it. LOL

with my bike 1 gear I wanted to make a trip around the lake. Ofter hours later and night coming soon I figured out that there was no way to make the trip in one day. So I ended up in finding a fishermen who took me back.
