Apartment stay close to the airport

If you're planning on staying in Yangon for sometime, it would be a good idea to stay in a service apartment like Micasa. The location is about 15-20 minutes from the city center and close to Inya Lake. I stayed in a 2-bedroom apartment complete with mini kitchen, dining area and 2 tv (one in the living room and the other in the master bedroom).

Wifi is in the room not free ($5 per day) but you can get free wifi in their restaurant (request for password). The restaurant serves the usual western & local fare plus some Malaysian dishes. Each night has a themed dinner buffet and a live band playing in the restaurant bar.

Overall an okay place to stay but not if you want someplace central.

Unique Quality: - Apartment facilities
- Has one of the few Halal restaurants in Yangon
- There is a small supermarket in the same building selling all sorts of stuff you need during your stay e.g food, drink, detergent, etc.

Good Comfortable hotel

We stayed here for 4 nights.

Pros:
Close to airport(about 20 min.); relatively quiet as it is away from city centre and opposite the Inya lake (no direct access to the lake, you need to walk about 1 km towards the city).
Access to the city is easy - taxis are cheap and abundant.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
There is a pool and fitness centre; the hotel is suitable for a long-term stay.
The rooms are really studios/mini-apartments with a kitchen, lounge, king-size bed, walk-in dressing room and a good bathroom with spacious shower area.
There are three free washing machines on each floor and a tumble dryer somewhere (did not use it)
The complex has a mini-supermarket (cheap bottled water) and a dentist.
The restaurant was okay for dinner with a choice in Asian and Western dishes.
Can change money at the reception (decent rate)

Cons:
The breakfast was allright, but nothing exciting; there is limited outside eating in the vicinity(Japanese restaurant next door, did not try it; L'opera Italian restaurant up the road - good, but expensive with small portions)
You need to pay for internet access in the rooms and for the wifi in the lobby (tends to be turned off in the night)

Unique Quality: Studio type accommodation
Quietish location (still on a main road)
