More about The Strand

Hotels in Myanmar

by zin about Introducing

In this page, I will give some infos attanched the pictures I had taken.
Firstly, it is the Strand Hotel (*****)
I got this photos during my technical visit to this Hotel.
The basic Superior room is 450 USD per night and it is 55 sq.km. The Suite will be 3 times bigger and priced about 1000 USD. But during April to Febuary, you can get special rate as it is not peak season. Originally built in 1901 by the famed Sarkies Brothers, The Strand Hotel Yangon, stands for all that were wondrous and opulent in a bygone era. Restored to its former glory, the Victorian-styled Strand combines the charms of the 1920s and 1930s with lavish modern-day amenities. Located in the heart of the city, The Strand continues a legacy with its impeccable service, state-of-the-art facilities and choice location. The hotel's 32 beautifully appointed suites are the essence of timeless elegance, and boast high ceilings; teakwood floors, spacious bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms.

The Strand Cafe, with its large windows, stylish chandeliers and rattan furnishings exudes an intimate dining atmosphere. Furthermore, The Strand Grill - Yangon's finest dining venue offers an exquisite menu of the chef's culinary creations. The Strand Bar exudes an amiable and inviting atmosphere, offering a full range of cocktails and mixers. Excellent business and recreation facilities are also offered.

Oldest Hotel in Myanmar

by gabriellefox about The Strand - Yangon

Went to the Strand Cafe for afternoon tea, another spectacular venue. The Strand was built in 1901 and is the oldest hotel in Myanmar, though it was completely renovated in 1993. The three storey hotel has 32 suites which are serviced by a team of efficient and helpful butlers. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with local art and antiques, and filled with the smell of fresh flowers. Even if you are not staying here, The Strand Cafe is a good place to stop for afternoon tea.

"strand sling at strand hotel yangon"

"fried tofu with soy sauce and ginger"

"shan noodle"

Makanan utama Shan, biasanya disajikan bersama mie beras atau bihun dalam satu wadah [one dish meal]. Favorit saya Shan noodle with seafood. Komposisinya bihun, bola-bola ikan, crab stick, potongan ayam bentuk dadu, sayur mayur, irisan daun bawang serta kuah. Atasnya ditaburi tauco tumis cabe merah yang sangat menyengat lidah!

"a complete burmese lunch"

"bamboo shoots and beef 'abon'"

Bikin mata berkaca-kaca, tapi mantap rasanya. Apalagi kalau paduannya tumis rebung campur ebi.

"volcano refreshment"
