Comfy mid-priced joint, Golden Temple by bpacker When three divas from Singapore picks a joint, you can bet your bottom dollar that it'll be a mighty feat. Clubber diva wanted the joint to be close to all the hotest bars in town, shopper diva wanted it to be close to psar chaa and greedy diva wanted a slew of good restaurants to choose from. To top it all off, all three divas didn't want their silk-lined pockets to be burned. It took a long time before all three divas settled on this hotel. It sounded good and met all their requirements...
What the divas liked: 1)Reasonably priced at USD25 per room 2)A working air-con and water heater 3)Cable TV 4)Free pick up from the airport 5)Close to Psar Chaa, Red Piano and Dead Fish Tower 6)Free Internet What they didn't like 1)Air con wasn't strong enough 2)Ensuite toilet was a bit small 3)The hotel was situated in a dark lane, away from the main road.

a well stocked fridge by richiecdisc After spending one night at a guest house suggested (rather strongly) by our motto driver into town from the boat dock, we found this entirely Cambodian affair to be just what the doctor ordered. It was simple but clean and very well located. It was also quite affordable with a double with private bath and fridge going for $7 per night. It had the bonus of a TV with HBO right in our room and for an additional $3, you could have air-conditioning. We were too cheap to buckle under but I think if I was to go back at that hot (February) time of year, I would shell out the extra bucks.
I know watching TV while traveling should be banned but after a couple months of traveling around Laos/Cambodia/Vietnam, we found the nightlife lacking. Also, when you are getting up at four in the morning each day to get into Angkor Wat, it doesn’t make much sense to drink the night away. So, to save some money, we’d get some beer and watch movies in our room or sit on the balcony and enjoy the street scene below. The fridge was a real plus as we could freeze water up for the next day. It was cheaper than buying it at the ruins and much colder too! Also, you could get great beers like ABC stout rather than drink the fairly tasteless Angkor beer. This motel has crocs! by bpacker Other than Golden Temple, there are loads of cheap sleeps in Siem Reap. Here's a convenient list for you , especially if you just want a place to rest your head, stay in the heart of town and club till you drop! All the motels listed here are near the Old Market area ( this is also where the pubs are ) and the main road. Also included are 2cents' worth of my opinion. 1)Ivy Guesthouse ( This place is just opp Psar Chaa and nanometres away from the hot hot hot clubbing area!) Cost: $20 - $25 www.talesofasia.com 2) Mandalay Inn (Good service, situated on the main road but a short walk away from Old Market Area ) Cost : $12 - $20 www.geocities.com/mandalayinn<br /> 3) Molly Malone’s (Hmm, this could be Singaporean-owned?? It has the same name as the restaurant in ol' S'pore. This place is just inches away from the hot clubbing street and Psar Chaa) Cost: $20 - $40 www.talesofasia.com/cambodia-mollymalones.htm 4) Red Piano ( Very near to Golden Temple, and Old Market but situated away from the main rd on a dusty lane) Cost: $16 - $28 www.redpianocambodia.com 5) Dead Fish Tower Inn ( This place has crocs and the clubbing area downstairs is very, very happening. Atmo looks cool and casual, there's even a barber shop above the crocs den! Situated on the main road, a short walk away from Old Market area) Cost: $5 - $20 www.talesofasia.com Theme: MotelAddress: All hotels are near the Old Market or Psar Chaa

FCC Angkor Bar by Tina-Perth We did not stay here, but since I had some information about the place from when we visited the Angkor Bar, I thought I would put it up. The Foreign Correspondents is set in the grounds of the former French Ambassador's residence and makes for probably the most luxurious stay in Siem Reap. There is the Raffles Hotel, which if anything like the standard at Phnom Penh, was vastly overpriced at (on a current special deal) US$240 per night for a minimum of 2 nights and $185 per night thereafter - plus 10% tax. The FCC is more expensive, but is very nice. You may get a special deal if you contact the hotel directly. The FCC is only 10 minutes' drive from Angkor Wat and is walking distance from the old markets .

by Tommiandtanja A very, very nice hotel with two-stories high bungalow-type of buildings. Intimate and a feel of rainforest with a lot of small canals and lakes. At night time the exotic noise of frogs, lizards and other creatures were lovely! One time even apes ran the roofs of our bungalows.
Like a huge garden!

This guesthouse was well located, as it was on Sivatha Road, but back from the street, and nice and quiet. This accommodation was booked by our driver - and cost us US$20 per day - for a pleasant, spacious room, with a small but functional bathroom, airconditioning, fridge and television. It had a swimming pool, which was much appreciated in the heat of March. The restaurant was pleasant enough for a drink and breakfast, but we avoided hot meals there, as it was too quiet, and not overly efficient. Did not find the staff or owner overly communicative or obliging, but the stay was pleasant.
The pool was a great bonus. Theme: Pension/GuesthousePrice: US$20-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Sivatha Road, House Number 21Phone: (855-63) 963 636Directions: Behind the Mekong BankOther Contact: email: mekongleak@hotmail.com

This guesthouse is tucked away in a quiet street a few blocks North of the National Road. It's built in a traditional teak Cambodian house. What it lacks in it are modern features that may make up its character.
