More about Bopha Angkor Hotel & Restaurant

Midrange Option Near Downtown

by AlbuqRay about Bopha Angkor Hotel

I only walked by it a couple of times, but the Bopha Angkor Hotel looked like a good option for those who want a little more upscale place that is within walking distance of the Old Market and Pub Street district. It is in the $50 range, has a pool and restaurant, and is just across the river from downtown. It looked really nice but gets mixed reviews on TripAdvisor. Lonely Planet says that it was recently renovated. That may explain why all of the newer reviews are good or excellent.

Comfortable and relaxing!

by chuis about Bopha Angkor

We stayed in the Standard Room and it's pretty big, with a comfortable king sized double bed. It costed us around USD45 per night. This is slightly above average for most tourists, but for we felt it was worth it for the comfort.

A romantic place in Siem Reap

by Levente_D about Bopha Angkor Hotel

This French owned and operated hotel is a nice romantic place near the Old Market area and as everithing in Siem Reap it is also close to the temples!
The price includes a wonderful breakfast (continental or Asian) in on of the best restaurants of the city! The room is decorated in ancient khmer style as well as the surroundings!
They ensured transportation to/from airport even they didn't mention it is included in the price!

Siem Reap Hotel

by northernbaldy about Bopha Angkor Hotel

The staff were extremely helpful and were able to handle every request that we had, including arranging drivers, guides and booking bus tickets.

The food served in the restaurant was great - recommend the local chicken curry

Rooms were smart, clean and spacious Lovely pool for relaxing by during the afternoon for a snooze. Good location as well, being close to the heart of the town where the bars & restaurants are - we always paid USD1 for the tuk tuks wherever we were heading

Oasis amid temples

by Davoatkoowong about Bopha Angkor

We sayed for 4 days at the Bopha Ankor & loved every minute it really is an oasis after doing the temples all day, the pool is an added extra when you've finished traipsing around, the service was great they made us feel special all the time, from breakfast outside at the restuarant in the mornings, too lunch & dinner, the beer was always cold, the staff were always trying to help & smiling. It's an easy walk to the markets & main part of town, Pub street, with good eating & drinking places, enjoy

Rich in Ambiance and Tops in Service!!!

by Homanded about Bopha Angkor Hotel

Bopha Angkor already has a reputation for it's fine dining establishment. The restaurant is FIRST CLASS serving wonderful food and offering some of the finest service. The check in was extremely friendly and took care of all our needs, including booking Aspara Dance show.
The hotel is within walking distance to shopping as well as several dance venues. Also, there are convinient Tuk Tuks always awaiting your exit from hotel to offer a ride - Just negotiatie a price first. We truly felt as if we were staying at someone's house rather than a hotel. Would strongly recommend this hotel to our future clients/friends/family. One of our favorite hotels for ambiance, service and for lending authenticity to surrounding area.
The hotel features spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, quiet landscaped courtyards which instantly transfer you to an ancient past. Specially attractive are the stone carvings and fine detail throughout the buildings fascade. The swimming pool was quite charming (salt water) and the total feeling was of being a guest in someone's house...down to the many wonderfully friendly regulars that frequent the place. They are always willing to offer suggestions. The other wonderful thing is the amount of work that the owner does for the Cambodian community both donating money as well as training young Cambodians to do 5 star quality service throughout the hotel, specially the restaurant. This will aide future jobs in the market for them.

Great place to stay, even with a baby!

by TripAdvisor Member anderson_sar

Have just returned from a 5 day stay at the Bopha Angkor Hotel, travelling with my 6 month old baby. The Bopha Angkor Hotel was wonderful - excellent value for money. Pool and rambling gardens were divine. Needed to be a bit vigiliant with mosquitos and baby, but mosquito coils and repellant worked well. The restaurant food was lovely. Tried to book poolside rooms, but they were booked out well in advance. Had a superior room just behind restaurant, which was perfectly fine. Earlier comments indicated that the rooms next to the restaurant could be quite noisy - this was not the case. Would definitely come back here again and recommend to others.

Little heaven in the heat

by TripAdvisor Member LyndaMao

My parents and I stayed five nights in Bopha Angkor from May 9 to May14. What a wonderful experience we had!
The whole place is an oasis full of all kinds of plants, flowers, and the mini ponds with lotus flowers and water lilies.
All of the staff are so friendly. Whenever you met them, they always greeted you with genuine smiles on their faces.
Especially those who work in the Restaurant, not only do they serve great food, you could only feel touched by the detailed attention they gave. At dinner time, they would put mosquito incense burner under each table. So very thoughtful.
I need not repeat all the good things others have already said. I wish to go back to Bopha Angkor some day!

Excellent Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member skepticatheist2

We stayed at the Bopha Angkor in Siem Reap during our 4 day stay in the environs near Angkor Wat. The hotel room was magnificient, and the grounds surrounding the hotel were very pleasant. The staff was always eager to please hotel guests. We could not have been happier with our hotel choice. The food served at the hotel was above average to very good.
And the hotel was just a few blocks from "Pub Street" where many eclectic clubs contribute to the night life(OK) on Siem Reap.

Fantastic place but beware the mosquitos!

by A TripAdvisor Member

We stayed at the Bopha Angkor for five days and found it the perfect place to relax and cool down in the beautiful leafy gardens and pristine pool at the end of a hard day of temple-climbing. It's a really lovely hotel in a great location, next to the river, with attractive open areas, fantastic restaurant, magical gardens and comfortable rooms but the one downer was the complete lack of mosquito-proofing - which given the high incidence of malaria in Siem Reap is no joke.

There's no netting on the windows or doors and more worrying was that our room (a deluxe room with its own balcony overlooking the river) had an enormous gap under the french windows out to the balcony - an invitation to the mossies to come in from the river and join us each evening! Thanks to copious amounts of deet, we fended them off, but if you're concerned about malaria or travelling with kids, do bear this in mind and when you book your room check that it's not the riverside one with the open door!

Bopha Angkor

Would people who have stayed here recommend the standard or superior rooms ?
Poolside or not (which i take it means riverside ?)

Thks ian.

We took a superior room around the front which was great - we loved this hotel. It would have been nice to be around the pool though.

We booked a superior room. Large, comfortable and roomy. There are pictures on our site.
No, it does not mean riverside....river is actually across street.
There are also larger rooms in the front of the hotel (upstairs) with a beautiful balcony from which you can watch life happens if you so wish.
Poolside very nice, also rooms with balconies but upstairs.
Swimming pool by the way is a salt water pool rather than chlorine. We loved this as it was an eco friendly way of keeping it clean.

Bopha angkor or le meridien

by kph100

We have booked 3 night flights to siem reap in June.
Hotel wise looking at Bopha Angkor or Le meridien.
has anyone stayed at either of these and can give feedback ?

With the Bopha being next to the river does this mean more insects ?

any suggestions for accomodation considered. Am flexible with budget.

Thks Ian.

We loved the Bopha Angkor and, to date, was one of our favorite stays throughout our Asia tour. Not only because the charm of the hotel itself, but the people and the friendliness of the staff.
There are also some regular locals (originally from Australia) who now call Siem Reap home.
They are full of good advice and suggestions.
We have rated this hotel on our pages. By the way, the food at the Bopha is fantastic. Try their stew pot.
No as to the insects. We went in Mid June and had no trouble. Of course, travel wisely, always wear mosquito repellent with DEET.
Also, the Bopha was within walking distance to a great danve venue for some entertainment. A "little cheesy" but wonderful food, a good time, and they kept the beers flowing.
Enjoy your trip.

Molly's or Bopha's

by xwings8

Hi. Could you please advise if Molly Malone's guesthouse or Bopha Angkor is better. Both locations are ideal but my only concern with Molly is whether it is noisy at night coz of the pubs around. Would love to hear your views. Thanks

We stayed at the Bopha of Angkor in Jan and loved it, I really think after a day at the temples it was fantastic to come back to a pool. Staff were really friendly and rooms were great so would highly recomend it it. We did eat at Molly Malones and thought the food was excellent and was a nice spot to sit for a while, but would not have wanted to have stayed there.

We've rated Bopha Angkor as one of the best hotels we stayed in during our month long, 4 country trip throughout Asia.
The ambiance, the food (Don't miss the hot pot) and the convinience of walking distance to a couple of dance venues as well as shopping areas was great.
The owner does alot of good work for the community as well and we have additional info on our pages.
You'll love the feel of Bopha.
