$5 for tuktuk ride from hostel to airport
My friends and I are staying at Ei8ht Rooms. The place is charging $5 for tuktuk from their place back to the airport. Is the amount reasonable? Or it's overcharged?

I seem to remember paying about the same about 18 months ago, and our hotel was in the market area of Siem Reap. I'm sure that the locals pay less, but...

Shouldn't you be paying that for an a/c taxi? Prepaid, fixed rates from the airport!!

Personally I would say if it's $5 for all of you and luggage ok, but if it's per person (you don't say) it's not. On the travelfish.org site they say that at this hotel airport pick-up and drop-off it's free, so......

My tuk tuk driver, Sophen, charged $4 to go from the Mandalay Inn (just 3-4 blocks from Ei8ht Rooms) to the airport. Since it was an early flight and he had been such a good driver, I gave him $5. BTW, please let me know when you get back how you liked your stay at Ei8ht Rooms. It was my second choice and looked nice.

Hi. I was in Siem Reap last week. From the airport taxi kiosk to my hotel(Central Boutique Angkor Hotel), the cost was 7 USD for an air conditioned taxi, or 2 USD for a Tuk Tuk.I went with the taxi and later hired the driver to take me to the temples for $30/ day. The return trip to the airport costs more (uphill?) 10 USD for a taxi. So, $5 for a Tuk Tuk return trip doesn't sound too out of line.
