Talk of the town

This French colonial style building is worth a visit. Grab a drink in the bar overlooking the Mekong river or have a nice meal in the restaurant. I recommend the set menus at USD 10.
FCC also runs a small hotel with five rooms. The location is perfect only a short one minute walk from the royal palace.
It's central location also makes it hard to sleep early as traffic and neighbouring bars are busy while the rooms aren't sound proof. However turn up the television or speed of the air con fan and you'll soon get used to the noise.
It's a 'must stop' for journalists, but also world travelers should check it out. FCC has high speed internet in the rooms and the bar.
We booked ahead and paid USD 55 incl breakfast. Next door blind people perform massage and I'm happy I only had to take a few steps into bed after a painful, but much needed hour.

Famous hotel in PP

Stay in two categories of room:
1. Ta Phrom room (USD 80)
This room is the most spacious room in FCC. Balcony facing the Mekong Rivers / Tonle Sap Rivers.

2. Bantey Srey room (USD55)
Room with balcony. Double Bed.

Internet connection is complimentary. But weak signal from bantey srey room. Prices are inclusive of breakfast. Must book in advance.

Authentic colonial style heaven

Pleasently surprised by the interior of both rooms I slept in. A small counter, hidden in an alley inside a builing is the reception. A very helpfull employee helps you with checking in and an other member of the staff helps you to bring your luggage one storey higher. The rooms are very nice decorated, tv set, minibar, safe and spacious bathroom. The bed is kingsize and comfortable. One storey higher y'll find the famous partly open air bar and restaurant. They serve a real good cup of coffee and the meals are delicious. Onother storey higher you'll find the second restaurant. At the side of the both restaurnats you have an good sight on the Sisowath boulevard and Tonle Sap river. An abundance of tuktuks take you to all the sites in PP for 2 - 3 us dollar.

Unique Quality: Great view from the front bedrooms with a balcony and from the restaurants. Meals were very good, specially mentioning the Illy coffee which is rare to find in Cambodia.

Nice place in Phnom Penh

Very good situated at the Sisowath Quai, FCC is a must to pay a visit.
Just walk up at the first floor and have a look on the riverside. I did not book a room in this hotel, (I booked an the neighbor hotel), but I had several lunches in their restaurant.
Good and smily service, good place to take a rest after some hours of walking.
The choice on the menu card is very extended with traditional Kmer dishes and Western food.
On the topfloor there is also a bar for having a drink with a better view on the Tonle Sap River and the Mekong river.

Unique Quality: Excellent place for having diner or lunch, or just a drink in the bar.

Open Air Dining overlooking the Mekong

by travelswithsteve about F.C.C. Phnom Penh

Overlooking the main rivers the Foreign Correspondants Club (or FCC as everyone calls it and knows it by) is a grat place to eat and drink.
Opens from 07.00 AM until midnight (ish) you can now book a room there and buy a T-shirt.

A sort of French colonial feel, high ceilings and open views - The setting is just what you expect.
The added benefit is that EVERY tuk tuk, scooter and driver knows where it is.

If you like it, theres also one up at Angkor too.
