by Penelope4 Hotel Cambodiana looks grand from afar. Inside, it looks fabulous as well. Its pastry shop offers the best goodies in town, its nightclub has a live band, its two resto offer fine cuisine, its spa offers excellent services. And the room rate - affordable. I guess what I enjoyed the most is the room itself because it wasn't only spacious, there were bottled water, coffee, tea and creamer, water boiler, bath robe and slippers! O yes, the hotel has a swimming pool overlooking the river. It was so nice to watch the fishermen in the early morning!
I must say the hotel staffs are professional. The traditional music at the entrance makes you feel very comfortable at once. And, taxis to the airport can be booked without any hassle. Theme: HotelPrice: US$40-80 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averagePhone: 855-23-426288

 | Hotel Cambodiana: If This Is 4-Star I'm A Banana

It’s big – stretching along the river front and set back from the road in well maintained lawns, the hotel looks very stately and impressive. Sadly, however, the promise of a deluxe room in this supposedly 4-star hotel is far from realised inside. Things looked promising with a very straightforward check-in, even though the lobby was hectic with tour groups and passers-by. Our room, however, was very disappointing. It was old, dreary, worn – every adjective to describe tired and dull is applicable. The bed was so old that the mattress offered no support at all, the bathroom was just plain bad – the bath stained with years of water dripping, the walls crumbling and peeling. Wifi is available but you need to buy access via the front desk. I never asked how much it was. Breakfasts were pretty reasonable – a large, if busy buffet. The negative aspect though, was that they insist on cooking the meats, sausages etc in the same room, thus you emerge from the dining room with a distinct smell of fried food on your clothes. All in all, a poor 3-star hotel falsely labelling itself as a 4-star.
Nothing of note stood out whatsoever. Just a dull, dreary hotel that doesn't make the slightest effort.
