VISA for CAMBODIA
by Tedsocoa
An electronic VISA for Cambodia is possible via their site on internet: http://www.cambodiaevisa.com/
This system is working perfectly via the Ministery of Foreigh Affaires in Phnom Penh.
Just log in, fill in your data , passport etc, join a good digital passphoto, and pay via Pay Pal.
Costs are 20$.
Some days later you will get your visa via email, all you have to do, is to print it our, and eventually cut it on passport format to stick it in your passport.
Arriving at the aeroport of Phnom Penh, just walk straight through to the passcontrol, they will shortly check our visa in their computersystem and off you go.
This avoids you to queue up with 150 passengers waiting before the immigration desk.

Other than the hotel i was staying in I do not recall seeing any other place in Phnom Penh that accepted Credit Cards. US Dollars cash were universally accepted indeed, the dollar was the currency of choice.
Ice Cubes
by Etoile2B
As most tourists know, it is not advised to drink anything but bottled water while in Cambodia. But the ice in country is actually made from filtered water and is therefore, supposedly safe to consume. The ice is transported in large blocks and on the back of carts as seen being loaded in the photo. But do beware, sometimes the blocks of ice are dragged in the street to get to the transport vehicles.
Malaria Pills
by DrewV
Keep in mind that Cambodia, like much of Southeast Asia, is in a malarial zone; therefore, it is possible that the nasty little bloodsucker that just bit you in the back of the leg might have given you malaria. Ouch! So be sure to get your doctor to prescribe some malaria pills before you leave home. You'll be happier. And bonus! Some of the pills can give you hallucinations! So it's really a two-for-one deal!
Not easy -- but essential

A visit to Tuol Sleng S21. This prison was where many people were interrogated, tortured and killed. Surprisingly some people did survive a trip here, but those that didn't were buried in the mass graves at The Killing Fields.
