Visa on Arrival
by AlbuqRay
When you fly into Phnom Penh, the airline will give you two forms to fill out. You will need them but if you want a Visa on Arrival, you will have to get another form in the arrival area, fill it out, give them your passport and form, and wait as your paperwork is processed real-time behind the counter. You then pay $20 ($1 more if you don't have a passport photo) and get your passport back with the visa in it. Only after doing this can you pick up your luggage and proceed through immigration. I was going to take more pictures of this process, but a guard told me not to take more pictures when he saw me do the first one. BTW, it may cost $20 to get into Cambodia, but don't forget to save $25 to get out (departure tax).
Using International Mobile Phone
by Pakistaniguy
If you are travelling with a mobile phone on international roaming facility then please do check the call rates first because it is very very expensive to use roaming mobile phone in Cambodia. When you’ll get back home and see your bill then be ready for a shock ;-)
Similarities to Malaysian Culture
by stimix
Everywhere I visited in Cambodia both Siem Riep & Phnom Penh, I can see similarities in the cultures, day to day living, food and to a smaller extend the religions.
Although Malaysia is a multi-racial melting pot. But similarities were noted on the type of food in the market, the wet market where almost all sellers are women..(As those Malaysian Wet Market in the state of Trengganu & Kelantan). The light desserts very similar to Malay's & Baba nyonya desserts in Malaysia, The Cham's muslim dressing, head gear, and even their language is similar to Bahasa Melayu/Indonsia. For Khmer culture, the Royal Palace ceremonial gears, umbrella & flags having lotsa similarities with the Hinduism practised in Bali, Indonesia.
For those Malaysian visiting Cambodia, it is a must to check those similarities. And for those Malays of Malaysia/Indonesia/Singapore, visiting a muslim Cham's Kampong and ability to communicate with them in Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia will be another interesting activities.
Before I forget...do note also similarities in naming their vilages as "Kampong" and the eating stall "Waroeng"
Keep your hands clean and out of your mouth

We always take either cleansing wet towelletes, or a disinfecting handwash - which is refreshing and quickly absorbed - and make sure that we wash our hands before we eat anything! It is so easy to pick up bugs just from what you touch, so this is a start to helping to have a healthy holiday.
Mind you, one of my memorable experiences was sitting at a restaurant, when I was still quite sick, and just "happening" to notice one of the waitresses picking her nose! Geez - best not to look in the kitchen - and I am guessing that they don't use the handwipes!
