The big drawback to me wa the advertisement which said the Saphir Hotel took Visa. I had given my Visanumber and exected that my lodging would be put on my credit card. When I got there, they offred to take me to the bank to draw money on my card.
The hotel otherwise was fine. The TV had several English news stations. The bathroom had a tub as well as shower.
The staff was extremely helpful, particularly in getting me cyclo rides to the riverfront area where the Palace and Museum are located.
The room was clean and the bed as comfortable as a flat bed is going to be (if you have a waterbed, no flat bed is comfortable.)
The breakfast, included in the price, was good, and ample, particularly the oriental dishes.
