Hi susan, Laoshe tea house has the same show every night for the whole week.
So just for the show, it doesn't matter if you want to go tonight or tomorrow. But their good seats are usually booked out quickly, so you might be able to get better seats if you book for tomorrow.
a couple of years ago, a very good seat costs 120RMB. it's the first row on the first step, a table in the center.
You can call: (8610) 6303 6830 or (8610) 6302 1717

The seats at the main show room ranges from RMB 180 for the back row (11th row) to RMB 380 for the front row. Best is if you ask your hotel to book for you, they normally can do that without any extra charges.

It's a good show, worth the money. The food is just a snack.
I think it starts about 7:30

The performances on the weekends are for opera/sung story-telling.
On Mon-Fri 1400-1800 there're performances for Chinese instrumental music and shadow puppetry.
The nightly performances are a combination of Peking opera, sung story-telling, magic, crosstalk, Sichuan opera face-changing (bianlian), dance, kungfu etc.
If you read Chinese, http://www.laosheteahouse.com/scg/jmjs.asp has a more detailed rundown on what's playing for the current week.
Prices range from 180 to 380 RMB. From http://www.laosheteahouse.com/scg/ycyd.asp you can link to a page for each day of the current week, showing what's booked and what's not.
Travel Tips for Beijing
How not to get lost
by piglet44
it is extremely important to get the hotel to write down their name/address in Chinese,or take a card from the front desk every time you go out. Also a city map written in Chinese and English is really useful to show to people and point at when you want to get somewhere. It is really easy to carry on a gesture conversation with people ,smiling ,and nodding and people are really keen to help you get around.
Piao You
by jane307
Beijing Opera is a famous Opera in China. Lots of local people like it who are not very young. In old Hutong, you can hear the voice. We call the Beijing Opera fans Piao You. Every day or week, they will get together and sing the Beijing Opera, maybe it's not very good, but all the members are very earnest.
Olympic Fever
by solopes
It’s easy to notice the deep changes that the city is suffering, with the Olympic games boosting the fever of construction. We didn’t stop near the stadium and Olympic village, but, from the road, we could easily see some strange buildings, sharing the challenge made by the stadium.
The "party" is over, and it would be interesting to see what did the games leave in Beijing. Another visit would be nice, but, being so far...
Government Run Stores
by keeweechic
If you take a tour, you will inevitably be taken to a government run tourist shop . While they of course bump up the price, I still found the piece of Jade I bought to be better value than back in Hong Kong. Of course its nice to look and you are under no obligation to buy anyway.

Another nicely designed bar with a terrace out on the small lake at Laitai. Not quite as good music s next door at Touch, but still a pleasant evening spot to watch the sun go down or the smog to thicken.
No food.
Not the place to people watch. This street of increasingly good bars is still unknown.

A: "Two and a half days would be enough for what you mentioned. You won't need a tour for visiting these places except Great Wall. If you choose Badaling section, you can do..."
