More about Cui Ming Zhuang Hotel Beijing
Convinient, affordale historic hotel
by Homanded about Jade Garden Hotel
Very pleasant hotel just outside the wall (East entrance) of Forbidden City.
Hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. (We were a group of 13 staying together).
Food was fantastic, great breakfast menu which was included in the price of the room.
Airconditioning broke in one of our 7 rooms and the hotel staff quickly acted to switch the women to a superior room.
Try for a downstairs room or one upstairs with a view of the Forbidden City.
The only draw back is that, as it is typical of all of China, even non-smoking rooms/hallways/elevators often smell of cigarettes.
Our room was ok although the hallways stunk of smoke. Historic building, it was built as a hotel in late 90s and totally refurbished for the Olympics in 2005.
Plenty of cabs right outside the door so getting around the city is very easy.
Best of all, only 1 1/2 blocks away is the famous Wanfujing Food court (creepy crawlies on a stick), high end shopping, restaurants, night market - this hotel truly is convinient to everything but at a fair price.
Their breakfast was varied and very fresh. Good tasty food.

Guangzhou and Beijing

Hi, I will visit China (Guangzhou) and Beijing next week, appreciate if you could share me info of the followings:
1. How much does taxi cost from Guangzhou International airport to Jade Garden Hotel that is located in Nan He Yan Street (hotel website said the location is 5 minutes walk to Tianamen Sq)? Is the hotel near train or bus station?
2. When I get to Guangzhou, I’d like to book a flight ticket to Beijing, can the hotel arrange the ticket or it must be done through travel agent? Can you recommend certain flights from Guangzhou to Beijing?
3. How much is the taxi cost from the Great Wall to bus terminal: Deshengmen?
4. From Beijing, how can I reach Tianjin airport? Where can I get the info about train from Beijing to Tianjin? How long does it take and cost if using taxi?
5. Is it so difficult to travel in China while I cannot speak its language?
Thanks a lot in advance for your advice.

2. Most hotels can help you book air ticket. If not, you can book with travel agent office you see on street. You can also book online or check time and price so you know the hotel and agents are not asking too much:

4. You can take taxi or subway to Beijing South, then take high speed train to Tianjin. From there, there is bus to Tianjin airport. It takes only half hour for the train trip, but I don't know how it will take you get to Beijing South station and get to Tianjin Airport to Tianjin railway station. I also heard that there is direct bus service from Beijing airport to Tianjin airport, but I didn't use it before.

Cannot speak Chinese is really a big problem when you travel to China.I have to always travel to Guangzhou for works in this year, i found a iphon app called"xTown Guangzhou Asian Games" from the app store,is useful,I love the taxicard very much,I can just push a simple button and the Chinese address will appear on my phone. Show it directly to the taxi and I’ll be well on my way, it`s hassle-free! Well done!
Enjoy you tour!
