GRAND HOTEL BEIJING

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on May 21, 2006

The Grand Hotel Beijing is located next to the Forbidden City and the Tian'anmen Square and faces the Chang'an Avenue - the first street in China – to Tian’an men square. The important shopping street of Wangfujing is practically next door and the beautiful Beihai park is a charming walk away.

Unique Quality: As a member of the Leading Hotels of the World and the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, it ranks among the best and offers the perfect combination of tradition and modern comfort. The Grand Hotel Beijing is entirely refurnished with a Chinese motif, its layout is unique and the atmosphere is graceful and cozy. All the furniture in the guest rooms is made of pear rose against a background of works of Chinese calligraphy and painting, which bring forth the essence of Oriental culture. While basking in nice surroundings, the Grand Hotel Beijing serves exquisit food of different styles.

Well, I did not stay in this great hotel. But I have visited it many times. When I am in Beijing I like to enter the hotel, go through its wonderful halls to the adjacent Beiing Hotel and enjoy the calm andluxurious atmosphere.

Unique Quality: The ideal location is the best quality of this hotel: Just a few steps to Tiananmen, Forbidden City and Wangfujing Road. The hotels offers everything you could expect from a 5-star-luxus-hotel: indoor swimmingpool, internet, beautiy salon, shops and much more.

Directions: On famous Changan Boulevard, next to Forbidden City and Wangfujing Road

A Past Era

by written on September 12, 2002

The Grand Hotel Beijing is also a 5 star hotel, and one of the few places you can sense the old Peking (Beijing).

The terrace provides views of the Forbidden City and the main thoroughfare that runs through the centre of Beijing. It was once an imperial palace before being turned into the first 5 star hotel in Beijing.

Unique Quality: Yin Yang of fine sleep and bedding: it's five star and it's roof terrace has a 'FINE VIEW' the Palace and its mysteries. Its location is as audacious as its style is unequivocally opulent. Only 200 odd rooms, blends the traditions of China's past with the comforts and technologies of today; a mix of Eastern and Western cultures.

Directions: The hotel is located in the centre of Beijing, overlooking the Forbidden City and Tian An Men Square. Nearby is Wang Fu Jing Street, which is one of the most famous shopping streets in Beijing.
