It was un unexpected stay. My flight from Chicago to Shanghai was forced to land in Beijing and United airline put us into this hotel. At first we thought it wouldn't be a very nice hotel since it was arranged by the airline company, however, it turned out fantastic! Room is very clean and well designed. It was a very comfy night.
Only thing I didn't enjoy that much was food - it was ok, but definitely not like a 5-stared hotel food. Check out service was very slow.

We stayed at the Kunlun Hotel in Beijing. It was beautiful and luxurious. The resident manager and staff were excellent and ensured that we were well looked after. There is an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, personal services and a revolving restaurant on top floor.
I really like to have a broadband Internet connectivity through my trip, so I choosed my hotel based on its availability.

Pls give your opinion on this hotel in terms of location, service, comfort, safety...etc.
is it worth it or rather book different hotel. Crowne plaza seems ok but mostly the complaint is its too plain. i mean i know its in good location but then as what you guys are saying that taxi is not that expensive really so id rather have better hotel with more or less same price even if its not really in wanfujing area. SO what do you think? am i nuts for not choosing hotel in wanfujing area or what?? heheh :)

Uh, perhaps you can elaborate a bit on what do you mean by "plain"? If you're looking at something more fancy, Grand Hyatt or The Peninsula is just down the road. There's actually one hotel that's quite unique - concept wise, Kunlun Hotel.

bali_junkie: by "plain" i meant that its like just the bed and the bathroom and nothing more. no extra touches. like, if not for the location, you wont stay here... something like that.. :)
